Pump is fun, I just returned from PA where I played with some family. It was the deep woods type of play, a pump players dream.
I enjoy the total game that pump provides. For me field awareness and patience make up for my “lack” of accuracy (hence Deadeye). ‘Fronter’ I started with a Blade a few years ago, it’s not a bad way to start. I have an Autococker pump and like it. I just bought a right feed body and will be moving to that soon. Grendel if I recall uses an ancient Autococker pump, it weights about 30 pounds and is deadly accurate. He bought it back when he still had a sense of humor |

I've been swapping back and forth from my Phantom to a pistol. one definite advantage is maneuverability on the field. I can go more places, quieter, than someone carrying an Angel and 1000 rnds of paint on their back. I'm faster than most of the younger kids when I play stock(Though I need a longer recovery time). I've also noticed playing stock/pump, has made me a more aggressive player. I can't just sit back and shower paint at an opponent.
-B Ps. you think you can get bragging rights from gogging an electro with a pump. Try gogging them with a pistol, after a combat roll... heheh |

Grendel my friend let’s face it. There is a time when we stop being funny and just become cynical old men…. As well as dirty. :old

You mean like Castro?
My fav quote from a really old pump player: 'The best thing I like about a pump is feeding it liquid so that first shot has a little extra.' Really...is that the secret?

I would just like to say I started with a Splatmaster, which I still have, and learned to be very effective and very sneaky (read "mean") with that gun. And it's the best way to learn about team strategy!
Now that I have played competitively at every level of tournament ball, I'm finding it's even more fun to jump in the occasional scenario/rec-ball game. It's actually fun and kind of relaxing in comparison. One of my favorite recent moments was on a day at PBC during the hour-long scenario game playing alongside two or three pump guns with my e-bladed Freeflow machine gun. From a distance and through a few trees we were slowly picking off the advancing team, all three of us, with single shots. Then they decided to rush us. I actually heard them say "It's just a few guys with pumps." There is something to be said for the element of surprise...and I gotta say they looked surprised!
