Given all of this old school talk. The sport really is not that old. We used to wear heavy pants and use bee-bee guns when i was a kid. If there was a paintball gun back then I would have never grown up.

You may have bought one which looks something like
this one,but you don't have one of these. This is one
of 15 HMG M2 models being built by Eric Engler, as part
of a contract he has to build paintball training weapons
for the Army. These newer version use Tippmann A5s.
Each comes with its own transport chest and tripod. Not
sure what the Army proposes to do with them, but my
guess is they'll be fitted into the turrets on Humvees,
where they'll seerve as part of the units Convoy Tng
program.

Old School....??? hmmm

You might be old school if...

You practiced with Ironmen before Bob Long was on the team.
You know who invented the Jerk Squeegee and how many beers it took to make 100 of them.
You knew Rick Cendejas when he had thumbs.
You even know who Rick Cendejas is..
You knew Rennick when he had hair.
You hit on Fred Shultz's daughter at the masters in 1988.
You even know who Fred Shultz is..
You watched Keith Idema punch Fast Eddie at the Masters.
You know who either of those guys are...
You still have an ICS goggle/mask system
You won the very first Blade from Andy Greenwell at the Reno Open...
You even know who Andy Greenwell is..
You lent Palmer a screw for Camille..
You know what Camille is...
You know that Splatmaster and GZ parts are interchangeable.
You know what a GZ is.
You remember "Baking" 12grams in your pocket with a "Hot Hands".
You could use a Phantom and an ACI turret and still outshoot the 68 Specials.
You know what an ACI turret is.
Your automag doesn't have "repair" stars on it.
You know who Skeeter Gordy is...
You know what "Nasty Boys" is..
You knew Rich Telford when he had Long hair.
You knew Chuck Hendsch was a better roller hockey player than a PB Player.
You shot "Great Balls to Fire".
You shot Cal Mag.
You shot Coconut, Blueberry and Slime Lime.

I got a million of them..

Greg,

I sure do remember many of those you noted, especially Keith,
who I understand is now sitting in an Afganistan jail. Took us a
long time to convince the people we dealt with at Bragg that we
didn't have anything to do with him. Thanks to him, interest in
use of paintball by the military got set back a couple years or
more.

Cal Mag was cool paint, but like so many other things in our sport
it was here and gone almost before you know it, not like us thankfully.

How about the Annialators from Ft Myers, anyone remember them,
or perhaps Bob Pitts, does his name still rings a bell with some of
you?

Do any of you guys remember ProGames Paintball Field? It was run by the team Aces & Eights. J.J. Brookshire was one of the owners.

and then there was...

I'm hearing Pitts is running a Marina now..

A few more to get you through the rest of the day...

You might be old school if..
You've still got a VL1000 (Or even know what a Vl1000 is...)
You know that Fast Eddie gave up paintball to make bullet-proof vests...
You have a back-up clear Rapide-Comp

You cursed PMI for switching from wood grips to rubber and then cursed Smart Parts for making wooden ones in colors.

You knew Too-ie when he only had 3 tats..
Your bottom-line, on-off, bleed and expansion kit were all red...(Cooper T)
Your Phantom barrel didn't unscrew but the feed port did.
You went to a plumbing store to replace your PMI-3 feed neck
You still have your PMI-3 Valve/Velocity tool.
Your (Bonzai Green splash) All-American barrel anodizing matched your Sterling.
You know what a Sterling is.

And the grand finale..
You know what a Phoenix is...and you're still alive to tell us..
