Good paintballs in a pinch
Being relativly new to paintball, I was at Dick's Sporting Goods the other day and in a pinch all they had left where Heavy Metal paintballs, so I picked up 2 tubes(200 balls). Im gonna have to go ahead it give them a 0 out of 10. Almost everyone of them chopped, the paint was very very watery, and the shells very soft. Just to make sure it wasn't my gun(tippman 98 with 16in barrel) I went to wal-mart and got some cheapy wild streak paintballs and tried them and not 1 of them chopped. So I guess my question is, what common brand of paintballs is best if I need some in a pinch?

Not the ones sold at major stores like that. That paint can sit there for a long time, and isn't exactly high quality to start off with. Do you have any local shops? I'd take a white or brown box of seconds over the Dick's stuff anyday.

My local shop is Charleston Paintball, which is about 30 minutes from where I live. Like I said I was in a pinch and couldnt get out to Charleston Paintball.

Don't quote me on this but I thought I saw Marb's at Dick's a few weeks ago. Was my first time in there just to check the place out. If I were in a pinch I'd probably do walmart because I bet they move the product faster. Most likely I would just stay home and turn on the tube and break out a box of cheese-its!

Your eyes did not decieve you, they do sell Marbs at Dick's, but they where all out. You know what those cheez-its sound better than cleaning my barrel next time.

All I cna tell you is if you buy pb's from wally or dicks don't buy the tubes. Those things get picked up and dropped and put back all the time. The most expensive wally brand I think its Big Ball or something actually shoots very well.
I have a good friend who works at wally world and his boss told him to throw away alot of the paint that wasn't selling good. He asked if he would take it home and he said he can take the tubed paint but we have to buy the cases. So we bought them for .50 a piece. Now we have over 20,000 paintballs for $5. lol |

Yo,
Where is the bore size of the paint located??? -on the case it came in? -many times I can't find it and it would be helpful if I could find out where an easy place to get it would be.

Well when me and drew went to Wally world to get paint he got a crappy box of zap and I got a 1/2 way decent box of paint.. his paint was kind of lopsided and dimples so bad in some of the paint it wasn’t even round. So a word of advice if they let u open that stuff up and check it out. I was told that some places let u and if they don’t let u don’t buy it I guess. I mean if the paint is crap they will just tape it back up and sell it to someone who doesn’t know any better. Then u go back and look for some better paint in the newer looking boxes. But u might be there all day because most of Wal-Mart’s paint is garbage from my experience.
