#1 Jeff Orr LE 'Cocker goes for Five Grand!

Selling Frenzy over Jeff Orr LE Autocockers

From JT Sports

Jose Luis bought #001 in series #1 of the Jeff Orr Autococker and put it up on his site. Retail price is $599 on the markers and once the gun went up for sale he started receiving calls from customers who wanted to buy it. He was made an offer for $800 which he accepted, but still received calls and when the customers found out that it had been sold the bidding war began. Up and up the price went until one gentleman offered $5,000 to end the bidding and take it right then and there. Sold!

This is proof positive that there is a loyal following for WGP who have gone underground over the past few years. A story like this, however, is fantastic in the sense that it reaffirms that if WGP delivers a quality product – the market will respond.

So he agreed to sell the gun for $800 and then changed his mind and sold it for more money. Sounds like shady business practices to me.

Not that I don't like the gun...I think it is fine, but I don't see anything special about it. It's a Black Magic. I do love AutoCockers...BUT just like Drew said, it was nothing more than a ploy to get rid of surplus parts. WGP, since the take over by Brass Eagle, has gone downhill. GunFighter Paintball was the biggest AutoCocker dealer in 2004-2005 in our region and then along came the Trilogy. That was the beginning of the end. The old cockers are still excellent...we have a Real-Tree Camo Black Magic at the store right now for sale at a great price, but to take a bunch of parts that are sitting in a warehouse and assemble some markers, put a signature on them and call it a limited series...well, needless to say I would never pay $5k and up until now I thought I had one of the most expensive autocockers and it is #1 of 1.
Since the Black Magics, Karnivors, Pro and Super Stockers are no longer available from WGP, anything they find in the back of the warehouse and put together real quick will be called a special edition limited run.

Cockers

Mass-Marketing seems to ruin everything. It's sad the autococker is a "Dying" breed. They will have to pry my Raced Freeflow out of my dead hand. (Well, maybe not since Freeflow went under and Race screwed all their customers in the US and only sells in Norway) The "ploy" seems pretty desparate. Woody, I think GFG should follow....Maybe the Britney Spears SE Louisiana Edition Autococker.

Yes I suspect you are quite right, and the OUTkast SNiper II's do nothing more than to support that, as well as the Karni Sniper II's. Old cockers (2k and pre) and up until the trilogy really, have an exceptionally strong following and it seems that it just isnt being supported by the company anymore- which is putting out some really 'wacky' markers... In addition to piecing up any random gun they can find a body and a trigger for.

Cheers

Drew
