It amazes me. The "hunter" shoots a paintball player, and the article really stresses that the individual is not a "hunter" at all (especially if he can't tell the difference between a skunk and a human), yet when a downtown building gets shot up by paintballs, it's always a paintballer. Do you sense a double standard here?

I do agree with the person who commented at the end of the article though. Players, if you are not going to use a paintball facility or private land, I would definitely check to see if the land is being used for hunting before playing there. But the hunter in this story is still one step below moron.

Well said webfisher, definitly a double standard. I don't know how the "hunter" was punished but he should never be allowed to own a gun again. Shooting from his vehicle while sitting on the road!!?....what a moron!!

The author of this article is obiviously a hunter and defending other hunters from being lumped in with this individual's actions. Don't condemn the author for saying this individual is not a hunter, because if one of us wrote an article local signs or buildings being shot with paintballs we would also being saying that whoever did that was not what we call a paintballer. This article is more to condemn the "hunter" than stating the facts about the incident. It is implied that the hunter shot from his vehicle and from a public road, nothing more. I have seen more than one player in a woods/scenario game wear outrageous gear including a skunk skin hat. Not that I am defending the "hunter" in anyway, we just don't know all of the facts.

The owner of a field that my team went to a couple of times was showing us a new area that he was wanting to open up for play. I was strongly against it, because it was right up against a major highway. There was a lot of trees along the steep ditch next to the highway, but I could just see some dumb@$$ shooting at passing cars during a game. That and all the garbage that people had thrown in the ditch from the highway, it was just a bad combination all together. All I saw was a lawsuit waiting to happen.
