Bangor Area bans 20-plus weapons

"The new policy counts pellet guns, paintball guns and "any instrument capable of expelling a projectile" as weapons, as well as items that can be "mistaken for" a weapon. It allows random searches of students who violate the policy."

I only wish it were so, just cause its banned dosn't mean the banned items won't be used in future misguided deeds...after all we are dealing with morons here...

Banning weapons is never the solution. Basically it takes away from the responible people who do not misuse them. If someone is dumb enough to get in trouble with a "weapon" they are also dumb enough to ignore the ban.

Yes I know, my comments include schools. During the Virginia tech shootings there was a student with a carry permit, who owned a pistol, was trained in proper use of firearms, and lived just down the hall from that psycho. Unfortunatley because of campus policy his hand gun was not on campus and all he could do was watch as his classmates were gunned down.

I'm divided...

I agree when it comes to firearms. Outlawing firearms means that only outlaws have firearms. Think about it. As far as paintball guns are concerned at high-school, you really don't need one there unless your school has a paintball team which it totally should!!!

Tried talking my school into it, they said that it was too dangerous. Football is more dangerous than paintball.
