Camp Sites Robbed @ Blanding

I just found this today on the MXS Blanding forum:

Quote:
What a great game! The best Blanding game Team Thanatos has been to by far. I can say that I had FUN, the minute I stepped on the field until the minute I stepped off.

As I'm sure most are aware, our campsite was robbed, as well as others, while we were out playing the night game. The Team Thanatos site was the furthest back with the yellow Suzuki tent. I can't tell you how much it kills us and the paintball community to know that somewhere "paintballers" are waiting around for players to leave a campsite so they can steal our stuff. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of our gear, our team is offering a cash reward.

What was stolen:
- 20-30 Dye Lock-lid pods in a yellow duffel bag
- White 60GB iPod Video
- Black 2nd Generation iPod Nano
- Sonic Impact iPod speakers
- 2 full Freak barrel kits with inserts

2 HPA tanks were also stolen but were found the next day in the woods near the entrance.

To whomever stole our gear:
Enjoy the iPods, one of them is in Greek so I hope you know Greek, the other has about %75 purchased songs from iTunes so you will never be able to sync your library with that iPod unless you don't mind erasing the iPod. I can understand you taking the barrels and pods because those we left out, but the fact that you went into our tent to get the iPods makes what you did that much worse. The Camp Blanding MP's and Clay County Sheriff have a report filed so if you are caught you are facing grand theft on a military installation. I hope you like the game "balls on chin" because you will get a lot of practice in the stockade.

I invite anyone else who had something stolen to post on this thread and list what you are missing. If you have any information please email me with the button below. Thank you everyone for a great game. Mother and the MXS crew: thank you for all of your help with this mess and for a great, well reff-ed game.

By the way, we were busy with the police on Sunday to hear who won so who won and by how much?

Caretaker
Team Thanatos

Very Sad Indeed! Rarely would you ever hear this happening @ a scenario. Thieves are thieves anyone who stoops to this level isn't a "sportsman". This will come back to haunt whom ever did it. You can count on it. Eastern Spirtualist call it "Karma"! Good comes back on the giver just like Evil, the dooer.
Ye of lower moral caliber will suffer your on foolish fate.
You thieves will suffer more loss than your ill gotten gain.
Lesson learned: Leave a guard at your camp sight.
Thies are the kind of scum who come to scenario's and shoot illegal paint, throw there trash anywhere. Don't abide by the rules. In short cheat all of the true players who come and do right.
Whom ever you are be glad the "Blanding MP's" didn't get you. Your Momma wouldn't be too happy retreveing her little darling from a Federal Stockaid.

People like this ruin it for the rest. I can't stand people that touch stuff that doesn't belong to them. I hope the MPs get them, Federal time should be fun enough for them.
We really need to keep an eye on our stuff and friend's stuff. While many of you are my friends and your free to take what you need, I don't know everyone at a scenario game. Believe it or not, some people come just to steal.

the last thing i want to have to deal with when i go to a game is having to watch my back and my buddies back as well. ive been hearing alot about theft at scenario games recently. maybe it would be a good idea for the producers to take a sec and address this ugly fact during the briefing. just a brief statement to the effect of "stealing is punishable by death". might be enough to ward off this kind of behaivior.

The bottom line is you need to lock your stuff up no matter how inconvenient it is... You will never see any of my gear laying out at the staging area / camp site with the exception of the remote mout sites such as Anniston. Even then I only leave my paint laying around and I only take to the game what I can carry on my back....

This happens all too often and it's too bad they can't be shot on the spot... my two...

My team just got an enclosed trailer (thanks Joe)for going to the events we attend, everyone puts their stuff in it and locks it up. One of our players girlfriends is nice enough to keep a close eye on whats coming and going. I do feel this theft was probably done by kids. All the players I have met at scenario games have been really decent people always willing to help fellow players. But as times change people lose morality, I have seen it at my field over the last couple of years and it always the younger crowd.

thats just messed up on so many levels. i might be able to understand and let it go if it was just pods or paint being left out. but actually going through someone elses belongings is just way crossing the line. These people will get what they have coming to them one day. karma is a beotch
