very good point.

i like smart parts just fine. i dont care about all the politics behind the companies. i just look for the best marker for the best price. i dont care who ripped off who because i am a player on the grassroots level and i am always looking to match qaulity with reliability and affordability. i will have to say, ive watched the ion become to the tourney world, what a tippmann 98 is to woodsball. hell, ive even put 2 of my teamates in ions coming out of tippmann 98's. for the money, you aint gonna beat the sp1. its had great reviews and i am thankfull that a company out there can produce a quality product and price it realistically for the average player.

For me and you this is true. for 95% of new players or people who play once a quarter, there is ZERO reason to purchase a maq.

I really hate to say this, btu Smart Parts is really starting to win me over. I dont like the politics one bit. But they are teh only ones trying to give the woods and scenario community decent tactical platform that is EP.

And another little trick I just saw, Tacamo is jumping on the Ion band wagon and developing some Ion and Ion XE MilSim parts... How's one of their 416 barrel kits, site cover, and CAR stock grab you. And to be honest, it doesnt look half bad at all.

I have been saying that I am going for a higher end marker when I get back playing agian. The Tippmann is fine and dandy, but I want the same performance the tournament guys have. And now I have to seriously look at the Ion and its off spring. I can go for a good used DM4 or so, or something designed for my style of play and the only one designed for my style of play, I hate to say is Smart Part's Ion (with Tacamo upgrades) or specificly the SP1. At least one company finally gets it, even if it is teh sue happy Smart Parts. I have to commend them for the SP1 and the directions they are willing to go in.

Boy JesterTLS you had to go and put that darn picture of the aftermarket parts for the ION....stomping my feet....LOL

Whew! That looks like my next upgrade for my ION...Thanks a LOT...LOL

Christmas is too far away and my birthday is after that....
With the limited upgrades (QEV& L-7 bolt) I now get over 4000 rounds with my ION using a 91ci 4500psi HPA tank...

At least someone listened. That is one of the reason I like Tacamo. They listen. I got a chance to talk to Doug this wekend at CDP's MilSim test game. I like these guys you can talk too. MilSig, Tacamo, UMS, Engler. All these guys that make products, whether big companies or small, if you can talk to them on line or at events, it lets you know that they care about the sport.

JesterTLS:
I agree Doug and the other guys at Tacamo are a great bunch.
I'v been begging to be a tester for them Doug says I'm too late...LOL
These great Tac upgrades for the Ion will be out in about 6 weeks.
I'm going to have to sell something to get um...Right now I'm playing with a Black Cell upgrade for the Ion which I like very much.
Have you seen the real 416? It's beefed up to fire the 7.62 round, and insted of gas tube operation it's a gas operated piston, which releaves the problem with the M-4/M-16 heat problem. Operating parts stay very cool.

Gas piston, sorta like the way the AK works? I use to be in to real steel pretty good, but not in the past several years.

Anyway, ODX beat you to the tester status with Tacamo. That's why I see him all the time since he hangs around CDP a decent bit.
