Charity game at Gold Diggers, April 15th
I'm sure most of the people in and around Charlotte have heard the news about the two Police Officers that were killed in the line of duty last week. When I first heard the news it completely disgusted me and enraged me at the same time. One of the Officers had a 2 year old child and his wife is 6 months pregnant with their second. I have always held the up-most respect for Police Officers and all other emergency personnel. After going to donate some money to the FOP for the families, it just didn't seem like much, given what these men and women do on a daily basis and what the 2 unfortunate officers families are going through right now. So I got to thinking and put together a rush charity game which ALL of the proceeds will be going to the families of the two Officers.
That being said, EPIC Unit is going to be hosting this charity game at Gold Diggers paintball (link to website in sig) on Sunday April 15th. All of EPIC Units members are volunteering their time to ref and organize the event so that all of the profits will go directly to the families. $25 for registration which includes all day air and one 500rd. bag of paint (additional paint will obviously be available). Out of that $25 registration fee, $17 of it will be going to the FOP for the families. Additional paint sales profit will also go to the FOP. Food will be available as well and once again all the profits and proceeds will go to the FOP. There will also be a donation jar set up for any additional money people would be willing to give can go into. The event starts at 10am and will go through 5pm. It will be a standard walk-on style of play with the airball field setup as well. Please come out and help these families with their tragic loss and have some fun in the process. We are going to try to get quite a few Police officers to come out there as well to play and participate. If you are unable to make it to the event, but would still like to donate money, you can do so by contacting myself via PM's or email me at Jeremy@epicunit.com For information on registering for the event please contact Clyde at Boss Paintball (704-784-4365) or myself with the given information above. You can register over the phone or in person. Payment for registration and paint will be collected at the field when you check in. Thanks for your time and support. We are also looking for a hand in reffing and such. Contact Jeremy with the email address provided above. Thanks.

I'd just like to say thank you for what you're doing. My husband used to be a police officer and this was my worst nightmare.
They go out day after day, making hardly enough money to live on, much less justify being shot at, just to worry about what their families will do if they are killed. Its nice to know that the paintball community has the heart to help these families! Best of luck to you! Tabatha |
