The only point in the article that made sense was the port-o-pottie thing.

The quip about wanting to sit on a porch without any noise was stupid, but typical of the retired people. I know--I have neighbors who have gotten in to arguments with our retired residents over kids practicing baseball in their back yards. The idea that you have a right to expect your neighbors to be quiet all the time is silly.

Now I'm not a zoning expert by any means, but i know what makes sense. Residential zoning shouldn't prevent safe paintball during normal daytime hours, unless they are charging for the event.

Example: At my home, if I have a cookout & charge admission, I'm running a illegal restaurant at my house. But If I'm giving the food away, I'm just a man using his propety in a way that hurts no one.

Why wouldn't safe paintball be the same way?

Sounds like the person complaining has nothing better to do!Would you want your local youth at church having fellowship or doing other things? My 2 cents

"Enforcement officer Jackie McLain looked into the matter, contacted the church and determined that the use of property that is zoned residential for an outdoor recreation event is not allowed."

So you can't have friends over for a friendly game of touch football or horseshoes or shuffleboard either, right?

Regarding relieving yourself in the woods- "McLain said she has been in contact with the Health Department regarding that matter. Hyatt said the Web site reference was intended as a joke and should not have been put on the site."
I wonder... does she think we get in the car and drive back home/to a store to use the bathroom when camping?
Ha, i think someone wants a burning bag of s*** on their door.

Ya got a good point there Bullit.

our church does this on saturdays and the pastor plays with us, around 2 years ago someone was giving us a hard time about it and we stopped for a couple months.
It seem'd that without paintball on sautrday the neighborhood's youth had all this energy come saturday night and would stay up late and do whatever it is that teenage guys do when they're bored and live out in the middle of nowhere.

Suprise, suprise, we're playing paintball again on saturdays and now with the neighbors blessings.
