Not a fact piece but more of an editorial, and like Dale said, lets wait and see how it turns out.

I've been to a few Free Finales and several LCP games and have always had fun. There are times when I'd do things differently than Billy but everytime I've felt I've gotten more than my money's worth and left happy. Congratulations Billy on getting Blanding for this Free Finale and I'll see you there.

I'm going to miss the "Blackwater Swamp" though, but I guess I can sacrifice that for multi-storied buildings.

I personally like the idea of more producers putting on games at mount sites, especially blanding, it's 10 miles from us. What Billy has done is make it afordable to many players that would not normally go to this event (pricing is a big issue in the south). As anybody knows to make a sport grow new people have to be brought into the sport lowering the price sometimes does that. If someone that normally would not go due to prices goes to a cheaper event and has fun that person will bring more people to the next game even if it is more expensive because now they are hooked. As for people not liking Billy getting Blanding , the finger to you it's a public venue paid for by tax payer dollars, if a man wants to rent it and put on a cheap game than realize his profit or loss is his business. I commend Any producers putting on a game for a decent price, Many people have got fat on this sport saying they are for the player B.S. they are for their wallet . Again this is one persons opinion but I am one person that gets a lot of feedback from a lot of local players so we can't speak for everybody, but we can speak for enough to book this game !! Good luck Billy if you need any help you can call us down here in the south.

As noted, the piece is an editorial...I saw some 'notables' in the scenario world were expressing doubts about Billy's ability to run a game at Blanding, since it's hallowed ground and all.

It's just me being a pissant and causing trouble, because nobody, and nobody was taking a real look at Billy's Blanding Bash, so I did.

Support for Billy Smith @ Blanding

I've only being dealing with Billy and family for almost a year, and during that time HE took the time to talk to me, a new scenario player, and answer all my questions including personnel ones about him and LCP. He made sure that I was pleased with the events, prices and any other aspect of playing @ LCP.
I'd challenge ANYONE that has ever been to LCP to give a honest bad word about Billy or any of his staff or teams.
ANYONE that has attend past events of Billy's had better support him by attending Blanding or through moral support.

call me the devils advocate here but the only reason blanding is concidered hallowed ground is because the big name scenario produces.. that dont even headquarter mind you in fl or ga didnt want some one to undercut there $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so by billy doing a cheaper game at blanding its basically showing everyone that mout doesnt have to be overpriced to play at it.. as great as place it is to play at even ive not gone everytime because in my opinon the previous producers where more about getting fat wallets off the players than helping out the players.. yea paintball isnt cheap.. but do you have to gouge the prices on white box paint.. no i think not.. and knowing billy. this wont be a flop.. and it wont be the last time hes in blanding im sure.. i only wish i had the leave days to fly from cali to fl to play in the game i know its gonna be another great game and hopefully it will reduce the cost for players with future producers there

Amen --

but let be add : Success hinges on the quality of refs. MOUT games have to be difficult to staff properly especially as the numbers get large. Billy has a lot riding on this one - I hope he is able to field some veteran MOUT staffers. Should be a great game.

ps: Free Finale 2004 was awesome... The CLAP will rise again!!!!!

I would like to express extreme gratitude to all who are supporting us in this endeavor. With the negativity that one forum or site have posted has worked in reverse for them. I have had an enormous amount of e-mails and phone calls from supporters all around with people volunteering to ref, help set up or to help take down just because they want to make this event right. We will be taking this event to the next level with character cards, role playing and lots and lots of paintballs being shot. GTF Paintball from Yulee Fla will have GTF CORE there as the Ironmen refs, they will cover all missions and bases. These guys have alot of expierence in Scenario Ball both as players and refs. Don't get me wrong, this wont be all the refs we have, there will be plenty more all over Blanding. If any of you (field owner, teams or player) want to help in this in any way, call me at 912-663-2314, e-mail at locopaintball@yahoo.com or p.m. me here. Again thank you all for your support.

Thanks for the laugh Thumper, I hadn't thought about that game in awhile.
