Guns vs. Paintball Guns

This would prohibit the sale of paintball guns in the city. Paintball guns shouldn't be more regulated than guns that shoot bullets.

I'm insulted that the Airsoft guy is associating scenario paintball with his Airsoft party... Airsoft guns are frighteningly realistic, in a lot of cases. NOT paintball guns. Maybe its the 200 round hopper on top? Maybe the 68/45 tank hanging off of it?

ok, so they want people to use the real thing instead of the fake one?
this makes no sense, yes paintball guns are easier to get but anyone can get a real gun almost as easy and i can go to walmart and buy a marker

I dont think they should ban the sale of paintball markers but how about a regulation to have them in a bag or case when transporting them?

and so this is how paintball the sport starts the grand downfall with the passing of this bill first its realistic looking fake weapons then its gonna be hey we got this passed why not push it further with just ban paintball markers alltogether because little johnny might get shot with one.... and its even nuts to think that an air soft rep is backing it those things look more realistic than a paintball marker.. wtf.

1. I like the airsoft association speaking for the painball players... I also like him saying paintball instead of ever mentioning airsoft guns...

2. If you commit a crime with a fake gun, you deserve to be monkey stomped. If you do a crime with a paintball gun, you deserve the high velocity lead posioning the cops give you.

3. I do not see a real problem with an ordinance saying you cant display these markers/guns in the public in city limits. Most cities already have ordinances againt discharging firearms in city limits and air rifles normally fall into that category. Paintball is an air gun, so it is in there too. No harm no foul. If you cant shoot it in the city, no need to have it out. You can have them, they jsut need to be in the trunk of your car instead of spread out where any Joe Smoe can see it and get ideals to call the cops cause he thinks your Timothy Mcveys (SP) cousin.

the city council is expected to pass a ban on public possession of fake guns, or gun replicas, which includes many realistic looking paintball guns. Many scenario paintball players use guns that look realistic. The ban allows people to transport the fake guns in the truck of their vehicle.
After reading this thing over again, I don't see anything that says they will BAN the sale of paintball guns. It says "public possession" and allows for transporting them in a concealed manner... Out of sight, out of (their) minds.

Hmmm, concealed manner? Don't you have to have a permit to conceal carry? This whole thing is dumb because the article read that police became involved when the saw 2 men with replica "handguns" enter a house. It sounds more like someone wanting to get their name in a paper. Anyway, can any of you tell me where the "truck of a vehicle" is? I been looking all over my car and can't find it.
