NPPL teams with Upper Deck

The National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) and the Upper Deck Company have entered into an exclusive partnership that will introduce the first Upper Deck personalized trading cards for professional paintball players and paintball enthusiasts.

A key element in the partnership is Upper Deck™s online personalized trading card program, which gives paintball enthusiasts the chance to create their own personalized Upper Deck paintball trading cards.

Paintball is currently the third-most popular extreme sport in the world, and with over 12 million followers, we feel the sport deserves to be recognized with Official Upper Deck Personalized Trading cards, said Susan Theodore, Product Manager for Personalized Products at Upper Deck.

Upper Deck and the NPPL have also announced that in addition to being able to purchase personalized trading cards via the internet, paintball fans can also get their cards created at the upcoming 2004 NPPL Super 7 World Series Commanders™ Cup tournament Nov. 12-14 in San Diego. A special photo studio will be set up on-site (next to Player Registration) where fans can get their photos taken and order cards.

We are excited that the 2004 NPPL Super 7 World Series Tournament will be held right here in San Diego, Theodore said. We encourage fans to come out and see some fast-paced NPPL action and to stop by our booth so they can remember their experience with an Upper Deck personalized trading card.

Finally, Upper Deck and the NPPL have plans to produce official trading cards of the NPPL™ top professional players. These cards will be available for sale to fans at NPPL-sanctioned events in 2005.
