You know for all the Flak that the middle east gets they do have one thing right. Let's just say it's hard to play paintball when your right hand is gone.

I wish it were that simple. These "folks" are not the e-bay type, or even the "paintball" type. The stuff won't be found on PB Nation or any other B/S/T location. These folks steal stuff, and sell it to the pawn shops for about 10% of the value, which they use to buy a little "rock". F'n theives!

The pawn shops dont care, and willingly buy stolen products whenever they can. The buyers know it is stolen, the sellers know it is stolen, it is the unwritten agreement that perpetuates the problem... This is one of the reasons they buy it so cheap, and sell it so high. If they loose an item to the police every now and then, it is just the cost of doing that crappy business.

FYI. The classic mag that was stolen from us during the Jan 21st break in was bought by the pawn shop for $20. The A-5 with an e-trigger was bought for $30 and the custom annno ANS GX-5 was bought for $65.

The F'n theives cost us $940 in lost inventory (wholesale costs) for $115 in their pocket. We did recover these items from the pawn shop, so it serves them right for buying stuff from someone they said was "a known theif". The pawn shop is only out $115, but we are out $940! The same exact hardware was being sold for a total of $395, for a 243% mark up! Who cares if they loose a few items with a profit margin like that. Scumbags! I know there is a legitimate place for pawn shops, and they do sometimes serve a purpose, but they are also a major reason for B&E / theft.

The law needs to start cracking down on these Pawn Shops. Skeeter the way I see it you and Brain have a couple choices. Stop stocking high dollar markers. I would think the little mark up you put on these items isn't worth carrying them.

Next, fence the shop in and get you some NICE dogs. Keep them behind the shop during the day and let them out when you lock up. Either way, if you keep stocking these items your going to need to spend more money to keep them secure...

It's a shame..

I kind of like the "shock in a puddle" suprise method of anti-thivery. Dig out a large area around the entry to the shop. Bury a 220 line leading to the dig out area with a drain valve. When you leave, fill the puddle and throw the switch. And he thought he was gonna get himself a SHOCKER!

I HATE theives!

so if pawn shops know that the item they are buying from the thieves is stolen does the pawn shops face any kind of penalty for this wrong doing i mean there hasd to be something that can be held aagainst the pawn shops in a court of law isnt there?

Yeah, they should be penalized. In some cases it would be tough to do so unless the shop admitted they knew the items were hot... OR if it were totally obvious... say a kit walks in with 3 or 4 high-end markers...that would be a dead give away...
