I asked one this morning. In SC, if one has a concealed, loaded, gassed-up gun, wheter its paint, bb, pellet or cattle marking and is on a public road, highway or throughway, it's treated the same as a traditional firearm. If it's locked up, it's ok. If it's unlocked and within reasonable access of anyone in the vehicle, it's a class 2 felony. If there are minor children in the vehicle, or other circumstances are involved, such as robbery, brandishing, DUI, etc; it's a class 1
or something to that effect
Obtaining CCW's in this state are only applicable to registered, traceable and serialized, legal firearms.
