Serve & Protect Paintball Program™

Hell Survivors® is proud to present our new: ‘Serve & Protect Paintball Program™’

A little History for you:

Days before the first Iraq war ‘Desert Storm’ broke out, we received a phone call from a lieutenant Gertsburg from the National Guard 762nd. Transportation Division (aka: The Duce). They were at Fort Knox receiving their final training before they were to be deployed to Iraq.

It seems the government had run out of blank ammunition for the rifles and wanted the soldiers to point their guns, blow a whistle and say: ‘bang your dead’ during their ‘final field training exercise’. Can you imagine the sick feeling they must of have had, when they were given this unfortunate news.

The lieutenant took it upon himself to find an alternative training weapon (paintball guns) for his men to use during this final training exercise. After talking to the LT we realized that they did not have any kind of budget for this type of alternative training measures but needed help. After hearing the severity of the situation down there, we wanted to do everything we could to help our troops in any capacity. We told the LT not to worry, that help was on the way! Hell Survivors® & Exotic Sportz® teamed up with Tippmann® Pneumatics to try to help rectify this urgent situation.

We packed up a huge trailer with over 100-Tippmann® 98’s, 100-Tippmann® goggle systems, 100-cases of Fireball® premium paintballs and headed down to Fort Knox, Kentucky. Of course, we also brought a complete staff to set up the equipment, train them on the operation of the guns, go over the safety rules regarding the use of paintball equipment and officiate the training exercise. They had sent the cooks off (with full-auto guns) to go dig in and set up an ambush in the woods. In down pouring rain and ‘tank-track’ mud ruts so deep it was like quicksand, the rest of the company (with semi-auto guns) made their way towards the woods.

They started receiving heavy sniper and machine gun fire while getting stuck up to their waist in mud, trying to signal commands and return fire with hardly any cover. When they were all done, you could hear the excitement in their voices and remarks like: “you sure learn to keep your head down when the paintballs are whizzing past it”. Remember this would not have ever happened using whistles or even blanks for that matter. The soldiers were absolutely ecstatic to have us come all the way down their, provide all the guns, gear and training at our own time and expense and help them through the most important training exercise of their lives. Before we left Fort Knox, the base went on high alert and the President declared war in Iraq, Operation ‘Desert Storm’.

The next day the entire 762 Transportation Division performed a formal full dress salute and plaque presentation to Hell Survivors®, Exotic Sportz®, Tippmann® and our entire staff for helping them with the exercise. They were all so grateful and cheering us, which made us all feel good inside just to be able to help. They were deployed to Iraq shortly after that. I did keep in contact with lieutenant Gertsburg while they were in Iraq and after they returned. He told me that all of the guys and gals were so grateful of that training exercise and that he guaranteed us that we had saved lives over there. He said: “Shortly after they had arrived in Iraq, they were deployed at the Baghdad Int. Airport and the insurgents attempted to over run the airport”. This immediately put them right in the middle of a major assault and firefight, which they all survived.

We are proud to be able to help and support our troops in any way we can. We are proud to Present the: ‘Serve & Protect Paintball Program’ launching April 5th, 2008 Only @ Hell Survivors® Paintball Playfield in Pinckney, Michigan.

Please come out and join the thousands of our active Military, Law Enforcement and Firemen and women that will be playing Free this year at Hell Survivors®.

Thanks HS, Tippman & Exotic for your contribution.
My son PFC Austin E. Selner just finished his MOS at fort Bliss, and had trained with paintball replica M-4's ect.
He is being deployed to Korea. Which I'm very glad.
He will not leave for a couple of weeks. His class all were deployed elseware, to the war zone in my estimation.
We are lucky he didn't go to Iraq or Afghanastan which I beleave the rest of his class was. Remember "Prayers of the Rightious availity much".

God bless your companys for your wonderful contrubution.

Now my question would, first responders be included in your program??? Ect. Nurses, Nurse Techs, EMT's firefighters. I am a Nurse and have worked in many venues in Hospital and Nursing home situeations. I have been exposted to many patients pain, suffering, and death.
I beleave I have Post Tramatic Distress myself, by seeing patients in pain, tramma, and eventually death.
It has weighed emensely on my mind, and paintball has on many occasions releaved my "Anexiety" by being able to control my anexiety, by releaving "The Stress" caused by being aronud patients Death and End of life processes. I worked at "Freedon plaza associated with Freedon Village SCC. I made many friends who are WWII, korea, and Viet Nam vetrans. My heart goes out to our "Men and Women" in our military. I love each and everyone of the people I cared for and glad I had that time. I was priviledged to take care of "Sandy Sanderson" who was and Is a close presonal friend of "Joe Fosss" the WWII picific fighter pilot ace, who started the NFL.
At Freedon Plaza which is owned and operated by the "Retired Officers Corps.
What you all are doing should be emulated by other Paintball producer's and Fields....
All my best keep up the good work.
A very gratefull Father of an young solger, who will soon be in harms way....God Bless our Service Personal. Keep Praying....God Bless America!
