Six People Arrested For Paintball Gun Attacks

PHILADELPHIA -- Police have arrested six people in connection with a series of paintball gun attacks in Philadelphia.

The attacks happened on Halloween night in West and Northeast Philadelphia.

In one of the attacks, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the face and his 20-year-old pregnant sister was shot in the stomach.

"I though it was a gun," said the pregnant victim, who did not want to be identified. "I am four months pregnant. I am scared of losing my baby, I don't want to lose it."

Police say the attack happened without warning as the two sat on a stoop at O Street.

Quick work by Philadelphia police netted Randy Rivera, 20, in connection with that attack.

Police also arrested five juveniles in connection with other attacks in Philadelphia that same night.

Steve Hazleton, the man who run's Capt'n Carl's Paintball, said paintball guns can be dangerous.

"If somebody was to hurt somebody, they would crank the paintball up. It's almost like getting hit in the head with a rock," said Hazleton.

Hazleton said paintballs come out with enough velocity to maim or even kill someone if fired in close range of the body.

Yes paintballs can Kill, im not tryin to be smart or anything, but where the heck did that guy get the intention from that a paintball could kill somone, im sorry but thats just next to impossible these days with quick resoponce, hospitals etc.... come on youed have to get a paintball loged in your throat, stop breathing, lay there for 10 min or more, with no one around to die from a paintball. But it is stupid what kids are doin these days with paintball markers.
