SPPL 2008 Season to be Announced

SPPL Announcing 08 Season Soon
By Pat Brown

From Paintball Headlines » Paintball News, Media, and More

The Scenario Paintball Players League concluded its season just a few weeks ago at the D-Day field in northeast Oklahoma. The league is currently working on finalizing its schedule for the 2008 season and should have it done in the next couple weeks. Aside from making minor changes to the rules and procedures of SPPL competition, the league is currently securing venues for the 2008 season. Some changes that will be made next season include going to divisional rankings as well as small changes to the game format. These small changes are currently being fine-tuned by the league.

The SPPL is a league of competitive scenario paintballers who compete in 10 on 10 outdoor competitions. Scores are kept like in XBall or other formal paintball competition and prizes are awarded but the SPPL has an extremely strong emphasis on sportsmanship. The SPPL feels this emphasis on sportsmanship is necessary for this type of competition since the teams play in such a large area that is often heavily wooded. Sportsmanship and honesty is necessary since supervision is minimal. In each competition a sportsmanship award is given out to the most deserving team. Participating teams and event officials decide who gets the award and it is equal in value to the prize presented to the first place finishers.
