If you are looking for lighter boots you should check out the hi-tech boots. I knew several people in the military who swore by them.

These are the boots I wear, if you get them, the size runs 1/2 - 1 size larger (I normally wear a 12, but in these boots an 11). |

I use Rocky Silent sneaker boots. Waterproof and feel like bedroom slippers. I wore these for a 3 mile hike the first day I got them and no blisters.

Note on Tennis Shoes
I wore tennis shoes out to TT for Gettysburg, and I got my feet wet about a third of the way through the game. That did not feel good towards the end of the game, so I may be getting boots now. But they aren't bad if you stay out of water!!

I have got to have a nice steel toe boot, water resistant, that I can fit 2 pairs of socks in to prevent blisters ...
PBC has wayyy to many fun puddly-rocky-big trees roots to step on-treacherous terrainy areas that I hide n play in ...must have protection from them there slithery aminals too
