Really a MINI is simple to clean and fewer parts to deal with and for the $$$$ you couldn't go wrong. I have a MINI and an EGO and although the EGO is nice, the MINI is a favorite.

The mini I am not sure about but the an Ego or an Etek are both HP markers. My 06 does not perform as well on LP nor does the Etek a teamate has.

Tactical Armor
I'm not even sponsored and I will agree that this vest is by far the best for the money.

Not very modular, but it is a solid vest, and I've had them all. Cops911, Rap4, etc....

One thing, if you want to run pods in every slot, run smaller 100 round pods on your main shooting side or they get in the way.

Now, to markers..... All of these markers are great, but what is your playing style, etc....

I've always been a poppet (ICD) guy which would be a check for the Eteks, but I have always loved mags (mechs in general). I use my Tac-One and my PPS Blazer more than my electros.

I've tinkered with some and fixed many of these markers, and I would agree you could do no wrong with the Etek, mini, or PMR. The Mini is a bit quirky (size, design), the PMR takes meticulous maintenance but is a very solid performer (warmer weather), and poppet style markers recoil a bit more but have excellent efficiency. All these require maintenance to keep it tip-top shape!

Also, if you are just a scenario brat like me nowdays, the Proto SLG is mighty impressive for a sear tripper. Much less maintenance on the SLG compared to the slightly more expensive PMR, as well as cold weather play which spoolers like the PMR are not fond of. The PMR will have issues in cold weather and you better have a plethora of orings to take care of her. The SLG has a few, and only two-three that you need worry about. The SLG is really a mechanical solenoid, sear tripped, blow forward, and they are CHEAP, but not Cheaply built IMO. Now, the SLG will not win a PB marker beauty contest, but who cares?

Also, it pains me to say it, but I'm slightly impressed with the SP-1, but if you are a tourney guy, the 11bps cap would be a problem.

So, are you confused now? Really, unless you like tinkering, the SLG is a great marker IMO. Don't spend your time at the workbench, get out there and "mow faces" as the "agg" PBNers like to put it!

oh ya, about my friend, i should have mentioned this, he does a heavy amount of playing, and minimal to no cleaning and maintenance on his marker. He said that is going to change, but that should be a factor to think about

With any electro or any marker that is expected to perform cleaning and maintenance is priority. I have been playing paintball for 18 years and have seen many markers fail from the old school workhorses to the new age elctros and 99.9 % of the time is because they were not cleaned, lubed, or properly PMed. It is good to change seals even when there not leaking from time to time and keep the batteries out when not in use. Just al little advice.

oh ya I know, I do a complete tear down of my marker b4 and after I play (so twice a week) and on my extras and backups I make sure to do the same once a month and fire a few test rounds through them so they dont get too lonely.

but as for him, his 98c takes a beating and it gets cleaned when our friend has to fix something on it for him lol
