what gun would you guys suggest then? i like the autocockers and would be willing to save up for and electro one. for that price though couln't i get a matrix. man iam starting to sound like beanerrs.

No your not, your doing the smart thing and getting advice. I would lean towards the cocker (or a bushmaster or Impulse or Matrix or an Omen). As everyone has said, the spyder would be maxed out (and would sell for pennies on the dollar). The vert cocker has room to grow and thier resale value is much better. I've seen some brand new 03 verts on Ebay for about $250-$300. Definitly need that HPA first, reguardless of what you decide.

What have you tried? Most players are willing to let you try out their guns at least at the chrono range and some will let you play some games. Go to the local field and get to know some of the regulars and see if they will let you try some different guns. This will let you have a hands on feel for what you do and don't like. Cockers are great guns but do not work for some people, and the same can be said for all guns. They all have querks and so do you so find one that fits you and how you play. Me I have great respect for Cockers but I've never been able to get comfortable with the balance and the trigger control. This problem is me not the gun. I like Automags, AKA Vikings, Angels (all of them except PBJUNKIE's :smooch: ) and Typhoons, but these are good for me. Try some guns and let us know which ones you like the FEEL of not what you like the look of and I'm sure there are many of us who can give you an idea of the pros and cons of each.

Resale on cockers is extremely low right now. Loss wise it will end up near the same (initial cost and upgrades to resale ratio), but defiantely would be easier to find a buyer later on. Buying new you're going to suffer a loss no matter what when you sell it. The only guns getting good resale now are newer electro's like the DM4 and New style Timmies.
