It's simple to determine if the pin valve is operating. Screw the tank on the ASA then remove it. When you unscrew the tank, do you have back pressure? If you do, and you get the normal "psssht" as the CO2 escapes, then your pin valve is OK and the problem lies in your marker. However, with an exception, if you can screw it right on and off with no resistance, the pin valve may not be working on THIS gun. It could be the valve OR the nub inside the ASA that depresses the pin. If any of this confuses you, TAKE YOUR GUN TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING! A shop tech or airsmith can probably diagnose your problem inside of three minutes and save you a lot of trouble. Gook luck!

When's the last time you've broken it down, pulled the Bolt and Hammer and cleaned and lubed it?
The most common problem I see with Spyders, and most other stacked tube blowbacks is lack of oil. These markers LOVE paint gun oil. Pull out the hammer and bolt, check your o-rings, clean it and put some oil over it before reassembling it. Put a few drops of oil in the ASA. Put the tank on, and you may have to manually cycle it a few times.
Good luck and let us know...

Thats great glad we could be of assistance, now you have to tell us how you fixed it and what exactly was wrong.
This is so everyone interested has the satisfaction to know as well as any future Ion problems that might crop up...

It was the battery wasn't it...LOL Thats usually the simplest fix, but everyone over looks it thinking "oh it couldn't be that easy".
