I have an Ion, and it shoots great- but the insides of it are junk. If i knew better i would have saved a few bucks and gotten a used Angel or something

get a promaster, i shot justins and its an awsme gun

if ur lookin for a higher end gun at a lower end price u should check out the Nerve by Smartparts. u can pic 1 up for about 100 bucks more than an ion. but other than that ull only be able to get about 100 maybe 125 for ur spyder. but check that Nerve out for the price its a great gun

I can relate...broke college student...Ions are 200 brand new in the box...I dont have anything bad to say about promasters except they are ICD love em or hate em. and really i do mean 300+ maybe a Matrix DM3 era. look for a gun that needs a little bit of love and then see if you can make it tick

Personally from my experience, if you know how to fine tune a ion then you should have no problems with it at all. So many people have them so there's always going to be help if something breaks. Usually its the matter of tefloning leaks, tightening screws, and changing the battery. Id just go with the ion because it has what every player needs. Their a little bit confusing at first but you'll learn to love it.
