It all depends on what you like and what type of paintball you will be playing. If your into tournmanents/speedball you need to get a marker that will sling so you can be competitive. If your into recball/scenario playing, get or build a sniper II. End of your marker worries.

it also depends on your money. In the regular "speedball" world with the insanly fast markers your gona need a big paint bugget. If you dont have that looking into Stock Class play. Im hopefully getting a phantom by the end of the week and am really excited cause i know that ill only be spending 30$ a day for everything about.

You could probably build a sniper II for under $230 if you purchase parts off of Ebay, etc but since your going to be playing tournaments you need to get a competitive marker. There are a lot of speedballers on here that can point you in the right direction however your going to need a lot more than $230.

he's right. BUT, look into the Diablo Wrath, Odyssey 03 and possiable (if ya get lucky) a used Imp, or even the SP ION.

A used Impy or Ion would be a good choice ($250-$300ish). A custom 98 would not be bad for speed and woods, but an impy will give better performance on the air fields (and better respect).

Several players were using the Ion at the CFOA this weekend. I was impressed by it's ability to match performance with much more expensive markers. Durability is another question.

Having actually owned an Ion, I would like to discourage a newer player from owning it. The internals are very fragile and you have to be practically a brain surgeon to get it apart and back together.

You could probably find a used omen for that price range.
