NXL/ESPN deal coming to light

The NXL™ is releasing details of the upcoming television airings. The veils of secrecy are being lifted as details of the NXL's television are finalized and this historic opportunity for competition paintball to develop as true, televised, spectator sport is now a reality. Principally through the efforts of Dick Clark - the most successful television producer with 52 years of experience in the medium - the NXL has secured two, one-hour airings on ESPN2 of a FULL championship game.

The games will be broadcast on Thursday, December 9 at 5pm Eastern Standard Time, 4pm Central Standard Time, 3pm Mountain Standard Time, and 2pm Pacific Standard Time and one hour later on December 16 at 6pm Eastern Standard Time, 5pm Central Standard Time, 4pm Mountain Standard Time, and 3pm Pacific Standard Time. Additional airings will depend on the response from the first two shows.

The games will be taped on Saturday, October 30 during the best-of-three Finals of the NXL playoffs at the PSP World Cup hosted by Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando. The Finals will be played on a field specially constructed for the taping; a veritable movie studio as sound and camera equipment is brought in to capture all the action. There will be 30 cameras used to bring the action into the living rooms of America.

Admission to the Finals is free, but space is limited. Mark your calendars and plan to be part of paintball history on October 30th. Game times will be announced shortly.

The NXL™ is paintball's only Professional Paintball League representing nine (9) major cities across the United States. The teams are: Baltimore Trauma, Chicago Aftershock, Detroit Strange, Los Angeles Ironmen, Miami Effect, New York Xtreme, Oakland Assassins, Philadelphia Americans, and San Diego Legacy.

Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call or write. The NXL(tm) is based in St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada. For more information, contact Mike Ratko, Commissioner at the NXL™ offices at 6000 Kieran, St. Laurent, QC, H4S 2B5, tel: 514.337.1779, fax: 514.337.5209, email: mike@nxlpaintball.com.
