its an interesting concept but I personally like lots of small squad movement as opposed to large formations. Stationary battle lines can get pretty boring pretty quickly unless you add a few tanks to bust them open.
Most producers around the South-Eastern US dumped counting eliminations as part of game score. Many have tried, but I dont know of any that have stuck w/ elim scoring after doing it once. Three days? : I'de check w/ the local teams and check their pulse. Here in the US, many of the older players have a hard time with a 24 hour game w/ lots of long breaks. Wayne gave up on 24 hour straight-through games back in like 1996 -- too hard on the refs, and mighty hard on the players. Also: Ive seen sportsmanship take a nose dive as players go beyond their limits. Normally excessive heat can do it in a short time - I image a 3 day game could have a similar draining effect. Once sportsmanship goes down, it can ruin the reputation of the producer in a New York minute. ![]() |

Thanks for the input. I kind of thought that 3 days may be pushing it but I was not sure. I think I was trying to make something unique. Sounds like I may have to consider cutting it down a bit.
I failed to mention that I was planning on having small squads that made up one team. The only problem is, I havent decide on how big the team should be. I didnt realize that about the Kill count situation. It is good to know that has been taken into consideration and then it went down hill. I should of thought about the Sportsman factor and I failed to do so. I can see how that can become a major problem. This post was helpful. Thanks again. Strength in numbers only means more for me to kill. |

Several of your rules would result in Judge punches or even removal from the game under the GSRP. (SCENARIOPAINTBALL.COM - Rules of Play) The "surrender" rule is pretty much standard. Upping velocity on the field or intentionally shooting a ref is nasty business. Capturing or holding prisoners is a real iffy deal, too. Not that it can't be done, but my experience with players is that they like to control their own movement to and from the field/regen area. And that usually doesn't include being taken prisoner. What happens to their markers? What if they want to leave the field? Pee breaks, etc...? A ref determining what a shot "is" on someone after they reach "triage"? You may find this very hard to do. Why not just describe the shots and let the players make the call? Head and torso - dead. Anywhere else - healable by a medic that wipes the shot.
It seems that you are trying to reinvent the wheel here. Keep it simple and you'll have less to worry about and more time to devote to the game. Good Luck! |

My bad. I didnt realize that you were editing it.
Now as far as prisoners go. I did wonder what I should do with the marker. I new that this part of the game would be a hard one to pull off. One thing that I have thought about is allowing the prisoner to carry the gun with him seeing that 9 out of 10 the person would be using their own gun and if they are like me they will not want anyone messing with it. Now if I do go through with that, another rule would be made where if they shoot anyone in captivity, there will be reprocutions. Again I am not sure. You are right about the triage center. It would be a better idea if they had medics out there to do that kind of thing. My only worry is if I get a player that decides he is going to lie about being hit and keep on playing. If I do go with the medics, I am going to keep the triage center and name it the casualty collection point where they will wait for a certain amount of time. Pee breaks will be allowed. Lol sorry I failed to metion that. Your right I am trying to. I am trying to make something unique. You know. Create something for people to talk about and spread the news about my field. Thanks for the input. Strength in numbers only means more for me to kill. |

No prob, dude. As part of Gunfighter Paintball, we have a scenario production company and put on 4-6 games a year. I understand what you're trying to do. But again, simplicity is sometimes the best thing. Concentrate more on writing missions and a storyline that hold attention and are fun and challenging to do. All the other stuff will fall in line. If you spend all your efforts on the details that won't mean much, you take away from your main goal of being sure that the players have fun and get their money's worth.
Again, good luck! |
