What about a civil war game? everyone line up and shoot while walking towards each other, nerfs count as cannons and take out a 10 foot circle. Might not last long, but you can do it over and over and .....
Yes, we have too much spare time off the field and our tiny little brains cause so much damage. |

There is such a variety of games that there is something for every body. That said, 90% of the reason I go to one over another is the company Im likely to run into. as for tired of scenarios : not I. My son got to run tail gunner for brains tanks, seeing steers running across a field with a satchel charge, and my new favorite toy: the recon plane. cool stuff - and tons of fun. Im even warming up to the idea of medics. Role players: (like spys w/ mega props) sure, up to the point where it doesnt make any sence for the armies to fight. special props are great, in extreme moderation... |

Fantasy games are fine, but not for the paintbal field, should be reserved for the computer. |

Thoughts for an upcoming Game
So if we said scrap the script, Straight up battle of two teams, with a bunch of Missions that earn each team points. A lot of cool props that you do not know what to expect, might be a prize for your team or something that explodes. Then you have to give the guys that do not care about the missions something to do. Have them fight for territory and maintain the teams flag at as many locations as possible.
And there is always the capture the General and xo and take them hostage, maybe even their radio operator that prevents them from getting their missions. ALL AND DONT FORGET - IF YOU SEE JUNKIE ON THE FIELD HE IS ALWAYS WITH A FEW POINTS AS A HOSTAGE, OR MAYBE YOUR PICTURE ALL OF THE PLACE. But then what do I know just my thoughts.. |

As much as I like scenarios [essentially the only thing I play anymore] I do get a little tired of the uber-complex roll playing based "scenarios" . I in general prefer the games based on some form of war where the goals are fairly obvious. There is a scenario producer that no longer gets my business because of the shinanigans performed behind the scenes with "Special" roll players.
Scenario Producers please keep the game on the field. If you are trying to do something in a game and for some reason you decide to "do stuff" off the field you are going to annoy a large portion of your players. We come to your game to play "Paintball" and we want to play paintball. I love missions and I can play a whole game without shooting and have fun if I know what is going on and I can actively contribute but I want the game on the field. Something we do not see in the Southeast much anymore is a straight up BIG GAME. These are not really scenarios but more along a big capture the flag game. Two teams on a big playing field with multiple flags to hang. Simple and fun sometimes just to get rid of all the rest and just let the players play, capture points [flags] and see who had the best stratagy at the end. No muss no fuss. |
