Personally, I would hate to see all games go to the same format or ones with little variance. The same basic thing every time would get boring for me. The biggest change I would like to see.......(deep breath taken)........ BYOP. There, I said it and don't regret it, yet. Along with BYOP, I think fields should have the right to decline some types of balls, like Monster balls for instance. Just as long as it is made clear on what types can not be used.
Somehow, I would like to see more of a story line that would resemble the actual battle being portrayed. Like if a "fuel dump" got blown up, a tank would have to be down for an hour (if there was multiple tanks)until it could be "repaired". Or a munitions dump blown, then a percentage of laws removed from the field for X amount of time. More airstrikes closer to a base per hour and maybe only 50% kill of those inside strike (if the actual battle had them). Something along those lines. Some battles had sides with more tanks than the other, ect.. you get the idea. But then have those like mentioned in an earlier post, battle for the flag(s). You could have battles within battles, like the real thing. Sometimes a certain battle within a campaign, would be a lot more important than others. That for me is sometimes boring with missions, no missions seem much bigger than others. I say have some missions where the other team knows your coming but can only have X amount of players guarding a "factory". The opposing team can only send X amount of players for an attack. Let the generals know before hand( say an hour) for better coordination and gathering players for the mission(which would be worth more points). I guess what I'm saying is have some "larger scale missions" for more points. Not anything where that one battle determines the outcome. Just a few thoughts. The fun really lies within meeting players I know and meet at the events. It's nice assurance I'm not the only "old" guy who likes to play paintball. LOL Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers, These are just my thoughts, and are not meant to cause a stir. |

Idea-a scenario game based on paintball players trying to get more points than some other paintball players. Yeah and we can pretend that the paintball field is a...paintball field! One team is called "blue team" and they have blue arm bands. Another team is called "red team" and they have...well you know. Of course you would have to give the event a cool name like "the event".

Sounds good, however the logistics could be more trouble than it is worth. I remember on evening during a scenario, the FPO color was pink and I got nailed in the gob (oral orifice region) with green paint. REMEMBER, just like I told my paintball partner: WE'RE JUST OUT THERE TO HAVE FUN AND SHOOT KIDS!

How about a game based on I shoot you or you shoot me, complete with tanks, missions and no pretend players or props. Lets leave the pretend to the kids. I bet at the real battle for Iwa jima there were no holy hand grenades, or re spawns (no disrespect intended just stating the obvious). How about a game of skill, a little thought on tactics not just whose got the fastest gun, or the most people, how about a little belly crawling and snipering or a general kill where he is out for the rest of the game or comes back in as a regular soldier. I mean after a while can you really remember all the pretend stuff? That folks is the real deal, or would you rather chase the rabbit down the hole to get the hand grenade to kill the tin man with?
