well I started this thread to see what it would take to change the game and make it more adult then just playing pretend all weekend and now I have a good idea. Our Sept game at blanding will have state of the art pyrotechnics through out the game. I looked high and low for a props guy who could make you say holy s>it when something was remotely detonated (hint) . And generals, we believe you should lead your troops from the field not hide in the woods. At this game you pick your base from one of the buildings on the field and set up your base there. As for missions there will be plenty of them but it will not be the type where you have to hold a building for 20 mins, our feeling is this is war, you do what will it take to win (with in rules).
Viper good to see you on the forums, I hope to see you at our Sept game at blanding, It's charity for a really good cause so bring some of your Texas players and help us raise some money for this cause. Thanks to everybody for all the ideas, we hope to bring you a game you will be talking about for years to come.

This is a well respected producer with many followers here on PBjunkie and I do not want to start a fight between parties. I have great respect for the producer and we had a very nice discussion when the problems became unbearable for me. His handling and what I thought was how things should be handled did not mesh very well at all. I think he is wrong and he thinks I did not have valid enough points so essentially discussion ended there. I decided that we had to many differences in what is important and I was no longer willing to spend my several hundreds of dollars a year on his events. No real hard feelings I just choose to use my money where I feel I get more bang and fairness for my buck.
understood completely my friend. see you in 7 days.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were producing an event, and soliciting input for it, or I wouldn't have hijacked your thread. The title simply struck a chord, as these are just the people I targeted with my new RTS format, and there are also far too many unimaginitive people who simply take what the originators developed over the years and copy it without improving or innovating on their own.

Good to see you're looking to change and adapt based on what the players want.

man, this thread is an awesome level ground for producers to gain input and for us players to share what we want out of a game. it makes me excited and hopeful that producers are listening to grassroots players and not just thier "buddy" teams. i know i spend 4-500 bux on a game and we play about once every month or so. not to mention our rec games in bettween. it gets expensive. so my team are going to refine our gaming to only the best scenarios here in the southeast. the ones that cater to our desires. the ones that go the extra mile to make thier game standout above the rest because they want to throw a kick ass game first and make some money second. not vice versa.

That is exactly why I play more, every year, than any other top-level producer out there. I use that time to listen as players talk during the game, paying attention to what they rave about and what they bi*** about. This information is invaluable when working on my events whan I get back home.

You guys have to realize we all want to give you a great game and your input is wanted. Nothing is worse than having a game and hearing people complain about what you should have done, insted tell us what you want up front we do listen. All producers have a goal to come up with something fresh and new after a while we run out of ideas because so much has already been done and we dont want to copy someone else. So post up we are all watching and listening. No problem Viper with your post I am sure you are as interested as I am on what these people have to say.

In my oppinion the game should have some intel .. it should be on and off the field. When I first started in scenario a wise person who I am still friends with once told me
" The game dosent start at 9 am on saterday it starts way before"
refering to the game of Intel .. you know pick the brains of a friend that is on the other side or make friends with the other side weeks before .. It always makes life a little more intresting.

wow it does... but its a cool sig bar though. ok back to the subject.. yea it does get a little lame for some of the missions or rolls in a game as far as the same regurgitated "mission types" but, and please im not saying this to instigate (for once) if anyone has suggestions on what they would like to see in a game as far as missions and type of game im sure most field owners/producers would listen.
