Something low maintenance. Spool valves don't really fall into that category, but the ion is the biggest bang for the buck in a nib gun.
Check into the older angels with eyes, once they are set up, they'll run for a long time with a drop of oil every now and then.
I'm sure the impulses can be had for cheap now too, definitely read up a little before you set one up.

try the ion .. best bit right now with all the ups and its cheap for what its good for ..

For the $$ Ion new. Or look for a used Shocker for that kind of money.

Go to a Store and have him touch Markers in the Price range and then get the one hes Comfortable with. Then look online because of the best Price maybe go and get a Used Marker. Thats what I think.
