whast your price range is what we need first. Then what type of game you want to play. Pump, Stock class, tourney, or just general rec.

First off remember to buy a good mask. Especially is you play is humid or hot areas, you can't shoot what you can't see. If you've only played once I would recommend maybe renting a couple more times and see what some other players are using. Maybe ask if you can shoot a couple of different markers to try to determine what you like and don't like since sooo much is just opinion. Also do a little research before you buy, a good site to do that is pbreview.com. A lot of players will tell you the good and bad of the marker your looking to buy. Also since you are just getting started remember maintenance levels change drastically between markers, tippmann 98c very little vs. some high-end guns that require a little more knowledge. Good luck finding the right marker

If this is the Walmart blister pack "kit" I have seen in the stores, you might want to wait and do a little more shopping first. First, the mask is not bad, but it is not thermal. You will find yourself cursing everytime you play because it fogs up on you. A low end thermal mask can be found for $30-$40. Second, The Spyder Xtra is not a bad semi-auto marker, but for just a little more you could get a full-auto Spyder (Xtra = $75 Imagine=$110).

My advice; if you are going to buy a paintball gun think about spending at least $100 - $150 on the marker, $30-$40 for a mask and $20+ on an air system (CO2 ). You can get a $50-$70 paintball gun, but will probably start longing for something better after you have played a few times. Also, stick with a trusted name like Kingman (Spyder), Tippmann or PMI (Piranha). My final note; don't be in a rush. Like protocol said, "rent a couple more times." This will get you out there, and you might just find someone looking to sell so that they can upgrade.
