WARNING: Jester socio-political rant!
![]() The biggest problem with what we're talking about is that these players don't have the slightest idea what the concept of honor and sportsmanship is in the first place. They've been raised in an twisted atmosphere of Hitman, Tony Montana and Contract Killers and a great many believe that to win is the end and the means of how you reach that end is inconsequential. The have no concept of honor in the right sense because their sense of honor is rooted in drive-by mentality and gangsta rap and attitudes. It is more important to most of them that the twist angle of their hat on their heads matches the number of bling points on their jersey. I'm quite surprized that we haven't seen a team post a name like the "Gold Coast Niggaz" just so they can emulate some thug gangster who they idolize. It's an insult to the black players and friends we have. I would expect it to be a joke to most of them. And we expect these people to respect sportsmanship and honor? Not gonna happen. And as far as bonus balling? These guys are used to getting several more shots put on them when they're bunkered. Since this is a relatively frequent thing in the thug-ball culture, we're really not doing anything more than making ourselves feel better by doing it. They don't care. Please feel certain that I am in complete agreement on dishing out extra helpings of mashed potatoes. I just know it teaches them nothing, but makes us feel better. I can sum it up in a statement that my Dad has drilled in me for years, and usually relates it to the women I've hooked up with. (And he was ALWAYS right, Dammit!) "YOU CAN'T MAKE CHICKEN SALAD OUT OF CHICKEN SH*T!" or it's close corollary, "YOU CAN"T MAKE SH*T FROM SHINOLA!" Larry Janecka did an excellent two-part series in PB2X on cheating. I'll try and find my back issues and post it here... Peace and Love... ![]() LA |

A patch with the international "NO" red circle with a diaginal line thru it with a hand with paint on it with a splat.... Last edited by SirRod; 11-03-2007 at 08:46 AM. |

people that wipe should be suspended form play for several games AT LEAST! CHEATERS=WIPERS=SORRY A** FELONS if i catch someone wiping i'm going to bonus ball them till they cry for there momma's period the end. -------------------------------------------------- WIPING is for your butt not for the p-ball field ![]() http://www.palmettopaintball.com ___________________________________ http://se7en.theqcp.org ___________________________________ http://www.meebo.com |

I was kind of seeing where this was going before hopping in.
first : one of the first things you should do when shot is to check yourself -- usually with your hand. this is not wiping silly - this is paintball. It pretty rare that a ref is close enough to call for a paintcheck (woodsball and scenario ball) - so we must check ourselves. (woodsball and scenario ball) But when you see it break, call to the guy to check himself, and the guy plays on w/o stopping to check or anything, well read on: Bonus ball the wipers? : maybe -- better yet, gogg um - or sneak in close for nice backside shot. For the repeat offenders: My favorite way to handle this these guys is a bit of special attention : to elect them as my personal trophy, study the habits of the elected, then savor and enjoy the hunt...all day long, all year long until the cheating behavior changes, or they sell their gats and take up golf. All in fun, and in the spirit of the game of course. Last edited by Grendel; 11-03-2007 at 06:12 PM. Reason: spelling |

I agree with bonus balling wipers, but then you have the issue of them shooting you first. What then, do you wipe knowing that they should already be dead, or walk off and then call them out after the game, thus showing them that you took the higher road? Or you could always shoot them as you are walking off and at least hear them scream. Personally if I can't get a paintcheck, then I will ask a teammate if they are near enough. I had a teammate get wiped out and we thought I was hit too, until he checked me and said I was good, what sucked was then I spotted the monsterous pink spot on my hopper. All the paintcheck for nothing, go figure.

dont get me wrong if you dont know your hit and keep playing thats one thing. if you know that you'v been hit have the respect for yourself and fellow players to call yourself out.
I was playing today at Palmetto Paintball and i was hit in the top of the head (it sucked alot I have an egg on my head now) the ball didn't brake just bounced off... ouch. i called myself out! I could have just kept playing since the ball didn't brake ( I know the rules if it didn't brake it doesn't count) I rubbed my hand on my head and looked at my hand I saw paint but not that much. I had some spray on my hand but couldn't really tell so I called myself out since there wheren't any reffs out at the "graveyard field" (woods ball field at palmetto paintball) I was talking with the guys i was playing with after the round was over and they where all like you should have kept on going and i said "well wasn't sure and i knew it hit me (rubbing my head) so I just called myself out." and they where like yeah you did the right thing. what i'm trying to say is if your HIT and you know your HIT. call yourself out for christ sake. on another note. I competly understand where you guys are coming from talking about adding to the game. but if you ask me by the time you figure out your hit, and wipe it off your target will have probably already have moved and your shot is gone anyway or your open now and taking one up the back side. so was it worth all that trying to get one over on the ref's and other team.... probably not. just say out and be done with it. it doesn't add to the game it takes away form the game. cherish honor and respect they are all you have! -------------------------------------------------- WIPING is for your butt not for the p-ball field ![]() http://www.palmettopaintball.com ___________________________________ http://se7en.theqcp.org ___________________________________ http://www.meebo.com |
