That was a while ago. I dont even play with him any more. I wasnt saying that is what everyone needs to do. Just saying what we did at the time.

We were younger then and not as mature as I am now.

I agree with you with kicking the cheaters out. When and if I decide to open a field, I will be making a band list myself for cheaters and violators. You had a good point with that and I am going to see how well it will work at my field, if that is ok with you.

Strength in numbers only means more for me to kill.

We never overshot him (don't know what BBing is), but nailing someone in a mask consistently throughout games is a great way for someone to get the message. Wiping a mask is a helluva lot harder, and they can't even shoot back until AFTER they've wiped their mask. Plus it's damn obvious they're wiping, AND it's obvious they got hit, even after a wipe, because the paint gets stuck in all the little niches and grooves of the mask.

Generally, I avoid mask shots unless it's under the following two circumstances;

1) No other target on the person is present (ie; their body is hidden)
2) It's a known wiper

Please follow our business model, if you get the opportunity. I would be flattered. I was not criticizing, just stating facts about the only proven ABSOLUTE known effective method for dealing with wipers. I don't let my players take these matters into their own hands, because very few of them would deal with it correctly. You as an owner (potential, right), are the only person who can empower your reffing staff to do the right thing. We had a semi-veteran ref who tried to play the grey a few times this past spring. He was booted off staff and lost all staff privelages because of a few "grey" area calls. He is no longer part of our operation in any way, and is not welcomed back at the field. This is from a few "playing on" calls that were made against him.

It is the field owner that drives the games, through preparing and training the staff. The level of ethics and sportsmanship trickles from the top down.

We had a "problem child" a few years back (WAY back, when 20 players was a big day). He was running off other players. We banished him, and our business increased, noticably. I was getting calls from soccer moms before with complaints before the banishment, and compliments after. In those days, this "problem child" was a significant % of our business, and would probably account for 20% of our paint sales on a Sunday. We sacraficed his 20% but got 50% in return, shortly after he was gone. Very rewarding lesson to learn.

PS: An industry driven by paintball players, for paintball players, is better than an industry driven by non-paintball players for dollars.

Very good way to put it Skeeter, and this goes not just for paintball fairness, but business in general. It's very hard for most people to give up something short term, because they can't see the long term benefits.
