The crazy thing is that this is not an isolated type of thing. A great deal of young people today don't see anything wrong with this situation. I could speculate as to why, (they haven't worked long enough to realize how it affects things - SS, Medicare, prices, crime and all the other things), but I won't. If they don't care about living a crime, they won't care about committing another...

jester, not all is lost, i am 14, 15 in march.. and not putting up with stuff like this isnt taught at school, its taught in my house. no, i don't pay taxes, but my parents do, and i will one day and i know how everyone, my parents included, feels about supporting people who do nothing but disrespect this country. kids at my school sometimes don't even stand up on the one day of the week that we actually do the pledge. a girl in my homeroom was sitting, i told her to get up, and i kid you not her answer was "no, i dont like america, im moving to mexico when i graduate" ive known her for a while and after that, i hardly want to look at her, if she doesnt like this country than good riddance. just wanted to let you know that at least i stand up for my country, and one day i plan to join some branch of the military, and im sure a lot of other kids at my school would too.

How long will it be before schools teach the pledge in ANCIENT US HISTORY 101?????

As far as your classmate wanting to go to mexico, GREAT, THE SOONER THE BETTER!! I would be happy to buy her a one way bus ticket.

When I was 17 I was Sworn in to the Navy. Did my boot camp and when I came home to do my last year of HS I had the same problem with some Puerto Ricans. When I got to school 2 minutes before the bell rand I saw the same thing (insure puerto rican flag Instead of mexican) to shorten the story I walked over Stated that it was Illeagal what they were doing and were all so sending a distress call which LUCKly 2 police cars were coming. ( they have to respond no matter what. So when I went to take down the flags one approched me THump down he goes .. THump there goes another one .. and then I proceeded with the flag.. At this time the police have ordered everone down .. but I remained standing. I nicely asked to fix MY flag and then I will comply. they allowed me and told me I must be arrested for assualt because I hit the kids trying to stop me. I stated that I was Sworn to protect my country as they are sworn to the state and that I considered this a attack against the United states. They still had to make the arrest though because the other s were going to the hospital. BUT here s the kicker .. After long diliberations in Court .. I was found not guilty ... by reason of I was sworn to protect..

You're right, Wub... Bravo for you for having the maturity to look at the situation and take a stand. I've known plenty of girls like your pal. They are just like the ones with big chrome posts in their nose and eyebrows and tattoos on their face. They're the 60's white girls who dated black guys to piss off their parents. They do these questionable things for the shock value without considering the long term consequences of their acts. I'm certain that your friend would find it quite a different story if she actually goes to Mexico and attempts to live there. Aside from the turista havens like Cancun-etc, Mexico is largely an graft & enforcer's paradise. From the local policia getting their piece of the pie up to the top leaders. The best thing to do is exactly what you said. Tell them not to let the border gate hit them in the ass when they go.

Also, bravo to your parents for raising you with solid values! People in the US that disrespect the very things that give them the right to be asses should be given the opportunity to reevaluate their feelings. Pick em up and put THEM on a bus and send them down South of the border. Pull their passports, (If they even have one), and let them figure out how to get back across... because you KNOW they'll be wanting to come home after a few days being robbed, beaten, arrested for no good reason & any number of other wonderful things that go on down there. IF MEXICO IS SO DAMN GREAT, WHY DO THEY ALL WANT TO COME HERE FOR?

That's all... My pacemaker is sending a warning tone!

I have not done any research on this piece of info., but I was told by a co-worker that mexico has no problem with ILLEGAL immigrants crossing their southern border because the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are stripped of their belongings and placed in prison for a year.

Again, I don't know the validity of the info., but it is a better deterrant than FREE MEDICAL, FREE EDUCATION, and FREE LEAGAL COUNSEL.........heart rate in the red, have to quit typing before the laptop gets launched.

its a small deterrent, but i do have a friend, a close personal friend, who has on occasion joined in with several other locals on weekends and have operated as vigilante border control. they only are able to monitor a few miles of the VAST texas border, and its illegal as all hell what they supposedly do... but from what he tells me, it is VERY RARE to have anyone crossing the Rio Grande at that particular location.

say what you will, but its effective.

Rather sad when defending your country is illegal.

No bleepin way....I am speechless. I grew up 15 minutes away. I'm caucasian, and was nearly a minority in school. Most people were either hispanic or asian. Most of my friends are of races other than my own. But there was never anything like this. If I were to go south of the border and reverse the situation, I would be lucky to get out of there alive.
Blatant disrespect like this pisses me off to no end.
I apologize for the actions of my state.

If you're saying you're a legal immigrant, no one has a problem with that & we're glad to have you.
