One thing I would add to Grendel and Junkie's posts above is find a gun that feels right to you and stick with it. Many people go through gun after gun getting a new cool toy and never take the time to learn what it is they like and don't like about their gun. There is a reason people like Brain, Skeeter, Grendel, Junkie, Thumper, myself, and many other old school players stick with their old pump. It isn't because we can't afford a new gun, but rather that we have found one that seems to be an extension of ourselves and stuck with it.
Along those lines, you can't really take someone else's advice with a pump. We can help aim you in the general direction of quality guns, but the specifics of which is best is all personal choice. I tried a phantom for over a year and it didn't ever feel right to me. My Sniper II is probably one of the heaviest guns on the field and I can't even tell I have it half the time. Then you have someone like Brain or Skeeter who are just nasty with a phantom....

good stuff guys -- Not much to add but the propery use of bait (willing and unwilling) is a pump players best friend.

Its easy to get in ONE well aimed shot off when they are looking the wrong way.

I actually have practiced this, and it does work. Not five feet away all twenty troopers walked right by me (I was crouched down next to a tree). The very last one, a four foot, 10 year old spotted me, why? He made "Eye contact" with me. I had a pump then, that one shot counted.

Of course when your staying very still and you break wind, nothing helps.

well fellas thats more info then i counted on thanxz, but ill make shure ill put it all to good use. im just going to have to get use to the whole only having 10 shots to work with. In my past playing ive benn a little to gung ho, shooting a lot and not hitting as much as i wanted to. So i figured if i limit my self it will make me make every shot count.

If you find you are having a little too much trouble adjusting to the stock feed 10 rds you can always get a matching direct feed breech for your phantom and add a hopper until you get used to pumping ($32 from CCI http://www.phantomonline.com/Accesso...cessories.html).

Going from a spray and pray method to stock feed is a drastic change kind of like going cold turkey with smoking. Some can do it and love it right off some need to warm up to that limited of paint throwing. I've played stock and have enjoyed it at times but I still prefer to play Direct Feed and limit my extra paint, during rec play I just play hopper ball (no spare pods).

Good luck. Where do you play? It helps a lot if you can socialize and play with others who are playing limited paint until you get used to this new style.

Something you also might want to think about is your size. If your a small shifty guy one of those small tubie harnesses that hold twenty or so tubes and 12 grams will become a huge bonus to you, they give you allot more flexability because you now can go podless.

It is very hard to hit a moving target and if your are a very fast target your even hard (aka Bloodyswimmingpool and my son). They both play Phantom pumps and are very hard to take out.

Either way you still might want to look at one of those tubie harnesses. (someone else might know the proper name)

If you can attach the 3.5 oz to where the 12 gram goes. Very easy. I love to play with my sniper 2. That thing has more face shots then a gun should.
