I chose the 2K+ because of the ease of getting pump kits and the fact they have the larger volume behind the valve. From an asthetic value I'd have to go with the SLAB sided Bodies (pre-2k) or the CCM bodies. I like the clean minimualist (sp?) lines. Only mill out what is needed for function, weight is not an issue for me. As for the quality issues the only thing I use from a 2K+ is the body and back block the rest is trashed/yard sold and replaced with quality pieces cherry picked from other suppliers or gleened from ebay/MCB. I actually have some pre-2K bodies that are slated to have the volume behind the valve milled and tapped to use 2K+ parts. Then I get the best of both worlds.

err - like lasers in the woods. scary boy that Clay Dirt. tagged me twice, one shot, on the run, 120' through thick stuff. twice. biotch. I think I owe you one.. or two

gman - I typically drill my 99 pump guide rods -- 0.191" x 1.5" to give that extra volume behind the valve. Its been working so far. Many of the aftermarket 2K rods w/ 99 threads have a nice air chamber once you get past the threads.

9/16-24 is the tap u need for the 2k+ pump kit. and a 31/64 is the drill bit you need for it... im working on getting a set so lmk if you need some work done.

i also love the 2k+ sniper2s. w/ the UL i just cant get a better shot near or far.

Haven't shot the new Sterlings but the old 1's were nice. The pump stroke was smooth as butter.

I couldn't be happier with my new sterling. For me it just had the right feel.

I bought my Sniper II roughly 2 years ago? -Put together by Thumper during our playing days at Triggertyme. Through out my time using the marker, I was completely taken back by how accurate it was. With little effort I was shooting accurately, very accurately at 100 feet using at first, an all american barrel (oldschool), GenXII reg, and bob-long spiral bolt. With little though I dropped my old Sim4, which never went a day without the need to be tweaked or adjusted and stuck to a marker which took practice and skill to master.
In playing and learning from SC Roadkill (being taught the ropes on scenario ball) I never once had a problem, a problem that is, that didn't come from my own stupidity and to this day still use the same stuff minus the barrel and bolt and have never had a problem.

Switching to pump was the single greatest decision I've ever made in paintball. I play more for less, stay on task in scenario games, and every shot is well aimed and analyzed later.

I've seen the evo sniper in action many times and everyone seems to have one but me. Needless to say I'm becomming increasingly jealous of thumper, chappy, big bear, and others as they own the beast and boast (along with putting a few rounds on my chest :0P ) Just by performance, this would be my second favorite marker.

I think that the worst mistake ever made was making cockers all VF Just about every scenario player I know complains about it and you would see so much diversity in the paintball pump community if it was reinstituted.....but it's probably all about money.

all of mine are 2k2

I like the minimalist lines of the pre99, but honestly....it was cheaper to get a 2k2 and the pump kit was more readily available. SO thats what i did.

I do have a lot of respect for the autotrigger on the Sterlings - but otherwise Ive found them too Nelsony - but I havent tried one of the new ones.
Yea the phantom is gone and the snipers are in route. I never shot one of the old ones but the pump stroke on mine is alot more like the sniper than a phantom, which I like. I like being able to shoot open class during day and stock class at night with it only taking a few minutes to change. The marker quality is about the same as the others (very solid). It does only come in vert feed which was not a big deal for me, I've always been used to tilting the marker 20 degrees and sighting down the barrel. Some of the guys used to right feeds might not like that.

Pump stroke ---- Sniper =10 Sterling=9 Phantom=6
Weight --------- Phantom=10 Sterling=9 Sniper=7
Accuracy ------- Three way tie
Quality --------- To close to call

This is the way I score them, so you see the sterling is not the best at any one thing but it is near the top on all things IMO. I do use a freak kit with mine and the autotrigger is the best I've ever tried. With all this being said it still comes down to what feels best in your hands, but your aware of that.
