Favorite pump

Thumper,

You gave so many good options!!!

I went with Sterling beause it has great pump action and reasonable cost, however not too easy to get.

Also like Sniper II, Phantom takes third but first for first rate customer service.

All are great markers however.

But I am still a lowsy player reguardless of what I run with

I guess my favoriet would be the original Bud Ore Sniper
But I had 3 Paranah's, that was my main gun for years...
on my original PMI pump I had the very first "Auto Trigger" from Gramps and Grizzley in Califorina...
Now I have a real nice Stock 03 Sniper II...

The new Sterling all the way.

Patience, that blending of moral courage with physical self control.

I actually like a hybrid of some of the choices, since I currently run a Outkast/Sniper II with everything changed out, (short of the pump rig and body). The only thing I'd replace on mine is the trigger frame and pump kit.

"Good evening, evvabody. Chad Mungberry here; ESPN Sports (Everything Stupid in Paintball Network). We're covering the 2007 PB Junkie Scenario-Woodsball Awards here in BE-A-Utiful downtown Hollywood, California. I'm here with paintball scenario superstar Notch Fugly, formerly of the Spank Rangers. Notch is known worldwide for his uncanny ability to capture over 100 sponsors in one season, a feat STILL unmatched by mere mortals. Notch, why don't you describe the beauty coming down the walk".

"Wow. Dude, like sure. The first way-cool marker looking for a "Junkie" award in the Specialty Marker category is GFGJester's post 2k Sniper hybrid.
"Sweet Jane" is walking the runway with a Jackal 90 degree frame and the stock pump. She would just DIE for a CCM 85 degree trigger frame with the matching pump kit, also from CCM. Of course, the pump handle would have to be color coordinated to the body".

You might laugh, but now I'm thining. We SHOULD have an annual PBJunkie awards! Form a committee of staff & members to create categories and have nominations. Establish a voting thread and run it. How cool would that be? I vote for Notch!

Im digging this poll - Im suprised by the 2K+ following by some of the older guys. Many folks theorize there was a quality drop off after 2K - and on some things I tend to agree. (Feed necks that separate, very fragile frames, stupid double only triggers, then even stupider VF only bodies) But there is something to be said for the larger valve space, lower pressues possible and 4 ozs of removed aluminum.

Ive got a pair of RF 2K1's and at least 3 pre99's and there is something about each. I have a hard time picking between the two.

Anyone care to share why they prefer 2k over 99 or 99 over 2k ?

and Jeff: I understand you sold all your Sni2s and Phantoms only keeping your Sterling?? - I shot Timmy's older one and it felt to me like a heavier phantom. What do you like about the new ones? you using the edge kit or other? I do have a lot of respect for the autotrigger on the Sterlings - but otherwise Ive found them too Nelsony - but I havent tried one of the new ones. -- I did see where the Belsales engr/designer/founder guy has been nosing around the Arrow Precision shop -- helping with their Inferno stuff. Grendel said something about Arrow and Belsales being under one roof soon?

Arrow Precision Ltd: Inferno markers
Designed and built with quality and performance in mind, by Arrow Precision and Belsales, the people who bought you the unparalleled performance of the Evolution range of tournament markers.
Built to last, from selected corrosion resistant materials, made to exacting tolerances on our state of the art CNC machines, anodised for durability and then hand finished by the same craftsmen that make the Evolution range of tournament markers and accessories.

This gun is not only built to last, but to perform reliably, day in day out, game after game, ball after ball. It has been thoroughly field tested under the most adverse weather conditions, summer and winter ... and like the work horse it is, it just keeps on going.

Using the same technology that gave you the world renowned Evolution valving, we have employed a special high flow valve and boost chamber, that gives the Inferno exceptional cold weather performance and consistency.

"The gun exceeded all our expectations, in terms of accuracy and firepower, we designed it as an entry level gun but it's just too darn good" - Keith Belsey designer of the Evolution and Inferno

Not particularly useful info, but kinda interesting.

Planet have actually been using parts designed by Belsales, or variations of them, for quite a long time now. Certainly since they started producing the Vert feed Eclipse Autocockers, if not before. No bad thing, just a different set of working practices really.

Belsales make markers in very small batches, with each receiving a fair amount of hand finishing. Planet work on a larger scale (other than with the Nexus), produce more markers, and as such are generally able to cut costs compared to the equivalent Belsales parts. Compare the price difference between a Belsales 44 Mag ram and the Eclipse Nexus ram, and you will see what I mean. Exactly the same ram, designed by Belsales, made by Arrow Engineering. The only difference between the two is that the version made for Planet has a more rounded tip, and an "e" milled on the side, but due to the wider distribution and larger turnover of Planet, you can find their ram a lot cheaper.

More recently, a number of Planet's products have been of their own design, but Keith Belsey still generally checks the designs to make sure that they are suitable for Arrow Engineerings production techniques.

Being in the UK, I have had the opportunity to visit Belsales on a number of occasions and it always strikes me as funny to see just a handful of Evo Autocockers that they are assembling, and then see rows and rows of Planet Ego bodies, a tray full of Nexus bodies, and multiple bags of internal parts for both markers stacked up around the office!

While the parts are made by Arrow Engineering (as well as the Evolution parts, Arrow also manufacture the Sovereign semi, Sterling pump and the Inferno markers) all the actual assembly and final finishing of the Eclipse guns is done by Planet themselves.
