sniper 2

is it better to buy a brand new cocker and turn it into a sniper 2 or would it be better to just buy one from a seller already made, and which one do you think would probebly be cheaper

Absolutely not to both questions IMO. Go purchases a Right Feed 2k - 2k2 WGP cocker body and build one yourself. If you can't find just the body, purchase the entire autococker and build one from it.

I am also wanting a sniper to, sorry to thread jack but maybe this will help us both. Can someone point me in the direction of a list and maybe a diagram of what is needed for a Sniper 2 and some idea of how to assemble with jacking it up?

Here is a list of what I have in my Sniper II and what I would recommend for a top of the line gun.

Body - Personal preference (You can go flash or sleeper)
Pump Kit - Again, personal preference. I have a stock pump and love it. Others swear by the CCM kits
Hammer - I have the heaviest Free Flow hammer made. They quit making them, but you can usually find them if you look.
AKA Tornado Valve - Others love the Free Flow valves.
Cocking Rod - Personal preference.
IVG - Personal preference again.
Spring kit - I prefer Madman.
Back Block - personal preference (May come with the body)
Grip Frame - I love the ANS Quickfire system. If you don't go this route, don't forget the trigger, sear, sear spring, and trigger spring.
Grips - I like Hogue 45's, but it is all personal preference.
Screws - Duh!
Vertical Adapter - Personal preference. Some like the 15 degree, some like straight.
Beaver Tail - Personal preference. It isn't required but I like 'em.
Bolt - I prefer the AKA Lightning Bolt. Others swear by the Mutant, Free Flow, etc. etc.
Regulator - I prefer the Gen - X 2, but others have their own preference.
ASA, hose, hopper, barrel, and an air source all of your choosing.

What does a "heavier" hammer do exactly?

It can allow you to run lower pressure if used properly. If it is set up incorrectly it can lead to horrible inefficiency.

So in your particular setup, what weight spring are you using (blue/green) and about how far do you have the velocity screw turned in vs. your reg pressure? Sorry for the all the questions... i've been trying to fine tune mine for optimal performance..
