raised age limit?

Do you think paintball should raise the age limit from 10 to possibly 11 or 12
a reason why i brought this up is that we had this one kid playing saturday who was getting freaked out each time he heard a png shoot and when he went over to grab some ammo from his friend he accidently shot him in the lip so point blank that the kids lip got busted
i know this doesnt always happen but i have heard enough about it i just wanted to see what everyone else thought
tell me do we need to raise the age limit or get a fear factor test out at paintball fields
i would hate to see little kids that are good at 10 miss out on the fun but i dont want others getting hurt because some one is too jumpy

at my local field its 11 but we put safety first all the refs and the seasoned players help out on safety barrel bags or plugs in the stageing area alot of safety teaching seems to work well but anything can happen so we stay on it

12 sounds good. the ten year olds are too young to e on the field with more experienced players anyways. they always get in my way if i'm trying to move up or play a bunker when we play recspeedball. and they shoot anythign that moves. even their own team mates.

I think 10 is fine…. Sometimes. But then again I have seen 14-16 year olds who were just as bad.

I think if the equipment fits correctly and the child shows that he/she can handle the aspects of the game, they should be allowed to play. But on the same note, I think that field operators should pull any player (that means ANY) that shows they can not handle the aspects of the game, be it being hit, being shot at, following safety rules, etc. And even more if they see a child “freaking out” on the field. Pull the child and do not let him play.

I know that may sound harsh to some, but I feel it is the right thing to do. Heck, if the kid had rental equipment and stuff I would give them a refund as well as their field fee. The paint and air can be used by others in the party, but all else would be refunded.

On a personal note, my son started playing at 8 and never had a problem.

maybe certain ages should be allowed only if accompanied by an adult......then kind of puts parents under some responsibility out on the field.

How did the kid get shot in the lip...was his mask off?

I agree, parents should supervise younger players

i don't think the age limit should change at all. to me it doesn't matter if your 10 or 30, people of all ages can act that way, and i have seen a few people that are my age act that way. i think what needs to be done is have parents accompany the adult and sign the waivor releasing the field from most liability for the kid. but you also have to teach safety and lead by example. someone should have been there to make sure the kid had his barrel condom on when he got out of the field. to me, that is everyone's fault. everyone should be looking out for eachother's safety and making sure they are following the rules and being safe.
