I do see a loit more people hanging back at a starting point in a senairo than rec ball. either you play in rec ball or you dont. heck a big game you got 24 hours to play no need to rush. pluse thats a long walk back when you get hit.

I tell ya the funny thing in rec ball. when the new guy kid adult whatever gets hit. and then they dont yell im out or put ther egun up or anything. they just start walking and I shoot then a few more times. Or the guy you bunker hit and he just sits there and keeps gettin hit and then wines after 50 shoots .... Should have said something or put your plug in or raised your gun???? I like that part

I don't like how you get the ocasional "know it all punk" who keeps saying at the end of the game that he got every one out, whene you know you got some people out, and he clames your kills. Allso the fact that some of those kids you can tell to go get the flag the outhers all rase there hands whene you say " I jneed 3 for defending our flag" . Rec Ball Rocks though

Let me preface this by saying I love RecBall and it is my preferred format. But since you asked, here are some things that aggravate me (or make me shake my head) about RecBall (NOTE: Some may sound harsh, but they are not intended to be. And these are in no particular order.):

1) People who think because they buy matching speedball jerseys and shoot electronic markers they are the best players on the field… and are not afraid to tell you so.

2) Rambo wanna-bes that think if they shoot the most balls and act the toughest they ARE what they wish they were. Come one, go join the Military and stop wishing…

3) People firing their markers while on the way to the playing field (but still behind netted areas). If you have not checked out your marker when chronoing, it is too late now to see if your marker works. SO STOP FIRING IT!

4) While I do like to help folks when I can, don’t bring me your marker in the middle of a game (and while we are under fire) and say “Hey, my marker isn’t working… can you fix it?”

5) If you are new to the game and come scampering into my bunker and ask “Hey man, can I stay here with you?” and I say “Sure, just cover my back.” It does not mean cower in a corner and watch balls come flying in the door and hitting my back because you were not “covering my back”.

6) If you are new to the game and ask me before the game what you should do, and I tell you… DO IT. Otherwise please ask someone else. The same applies to in the middle of a game.

7) If you are marked out by me and don’t raise your marker or yell “I’m hit!” or any number of things which would indicate to me that you are out (because I can’t see that I hit you behind the bushes you are hiding behind), don’t start yelling at me and calling me all sorts of names because I keep shooting at you… and keep hitting you.

8) Don’t shoot your marker in the staging area or any other area not designated for shooting your markers. There is NO need for it and you only look like an idiot. If you are too lazy to test fire your marker in the chrono or target area, maybe you should take up another sport.

9) People who think the rules are great to have, but they really only apply to everyone else but them. Because we all know all safety issues are caused by kids or newbies, right?

10) People who complain about the high paint prices but then go and run through half a case (or more) in the chrono/target area, and then drop another bag on the ground when loading their pods/hoppers. Oh, and don’t forget on the way to the field (see #3).

11) Kids who think because they read an online forum or some paintball magazine they know more about the sport than you do… even though you have been playing it for longer than they have been alive.

12) People who bring equipment to the field that they nave not made sure WORKS before they came. Please don’t ask me to help fix it. It is one thing if your marker goes down in the middle of the day, but I am not your personal tech shop. You would not go to the track without making sure your car is ready to race, so don’t go to the paintball park without making sure you are ready to play.

13) People who camp the entire game and since they are not marked out by the time the game ends they think that they “won”. Here’s a news flash, if you are not marked out from time to time, you are not playing the game. In RecBall you should be as proud of (or more so) of the times you get HIT doing something truly fun or daring as you are of making it through a game unmarked (or how many “kills” you got). In fact most of the best stories come from being marked out and how you EARNED it.

14) People who cry about being hit. While overshooting is to be avoided, it sometimes happens. More so with inexperienced players. So complain only when the INTENT was to overshoot, not just because you got hit with a bunch of balls.

15) People who take it upon themselves to be the enforcer of all rules, at all time… personally. While it is good to be aware and be proactive, you should only confront someone about a rules violation if it is a safety issue. Other than that, tell a Ref or staff member. That is THEIR job. And this comes from someone who is very anal about rules, be they for a game or safety. And don’t argue with anyone about it either, you will not get anywhere. Tell them and if they continue, tell the staff. It is NOT tattling, it is every player’s responsibility.

16) Parents who use RecBall as a babysitter. Enough said on that one…

17) People who don’t understand they are not at home and their language should reflect a social setting. While swearing will happen in the heat of the moment on the field, or slip out now and again in conversation, folks should really not swear as if no two words can be said without a swear connecting them. It is not cool and you don’t look “older” or “tough”. A little class goes a long way.

18) Smoking. While I used to be a smoker myself, I don’t appreciate you not allowing me to NOT smoke. Please be conscious of the wind and who may be affected by your choice to smoke. I did when I was a smoker, please also do so yourselves. Just because you are outside does not mean you are not infringing on others by lighting up. This does not apply to ALL smokers, some are considerate and I think them.

I am sure there are others, but I have to get back to work. LOL

The biggest one on that list that gets to me is the fireing befor the game starts. Keep sleevs on untill ref sayes outherwise. This happens in speedball as well, and I hate it. We will be walking along and all of a sudden bap bap some guy test fireing his gun.

i dunno. i dont really see whast wrong with shootin a few rounds right before the game starts. Most of the time when i do im makin sure there's nothin in the barrel, seein if the paint breaks on some of the longer shots and makin sure nothins wrong. I know, that's what the cronos for, but honestly at TT it's hard to go into the crono everytime and test all that out cause we have a 10 min. turn around wait and it's usually more like 6 min. instead. O GOD, I HATE PEOPLE WHO THINK THE PAINTBALL FIELD IS FREE DAY CARE!!!!!
