Rec

RecBall is also good practice for scenario ball. Even though there is a cast of thousand on each side usually on Saturday, it makes for good practice for team skills training.

rec ball - and the list goes on..

Why I like recball :

I like the fact that I can just grab my gun case, goggles, and go have a day of fun and exercise with old and new friends alike without: having to get on the phone and orgainze a bunch of guys, listen to their excuses, loan out a ton of gear, replace the lost gear etc.. I can just walk on and have fun - any given weekend.

I like seeing the transformation of new players from scared - go dive in the bunker and pull the trigger for cover types - to - real chess players, thinking and predicting what the opposing side is going to do, then moving, acting and leading based on reasonable best guesses. Its a thinking game, with the worlds deadliest animal as the quarry - it just takes a while for many to realize just how agressive, sneaky and deceptive the human animal can be.

I like the subtle dynamics that form as two players learn how to play angles together, and the bait and switch roles develop - and the rare occasion when these relationships becomes completely natural and manifested as an odd ballet in the woods.

I like the community and culture I see emerging around woodsball, scenario ball and the pump revolution.

And I really like hunting my friends..

quite - Hunting drews is a favorite.

Ill share an old family recipe:

Place drew on a large plank of seasoned oak, and place in brick oven at 375 degrees for 2 hours basting with your favorite marinade. Once done, allow to cool to let the spices blend.

To serve : dig shallow grave, and scrape the inedible stinking drew into grave, and cover quickly. Once covered, eat the board with a nice Chianti.

Bon Appetite
