Welcome to the fray. You'll enjoy running with the bug instead of away from it for a change!

Interglacials are short and then we enter the nasty brutishness of the glacial periods.

2nd Armor contains Tanks, Infantry, Anti-tank, and Artillery

You do not need a tank or be a tanker to join the 2nd Armored Division! The 36th Mechanized Regiment of the 2nd Armored Division is Infantry, which is refered to as Cavalry and may be mounted or dismounted on armored vehicles. The 899th Tank Destroyer Battalion of the 2nd Armored Division is also an infantry unit
which is equipped and trained to destroy German armor!

Calling all Tankers

If you have a Tank, are building one, or otherwise and need a Tank crew, please contact: Scott Bolden -
death@anpaintball.com. We are also looking for Tanks without crews to have some of our Elite, physically challenged players 'man the guns!'. Let Scott know if you have room.

Commander: Major General Keith “US ArmyManofWar”Mitts
Email: Keith@USTacOps.com

XO: Brigadier General Scott "Death by Daddy "Bolden
Email: death@anpaintball.com

Primary Objectives: Utah Beach (400 points)

Points are awarded at 1100hrs (200) and 1200hrs (200) for a total of 400 points.

Land at Utah Beach with the 4th Infantry Division and provide covering fire support with
your Tank Regiments and secure a beachhead.

After securing Utah beach move inland with your 32nd Tank Regiment, 33rd Tank Regiment
and 36th Mechanized Infantry Regiment and secure Causeway #2. Place your 899th Tank
Destroyer Battalion into choke points to defeat any German Armor attempting counter attacks.

Eliminate German resistance in your sector and proceed inland with the 4th Infantry Division
then link up with elements of the 101st Airborne and French Resistance.

You will be securing the northern flank of the invasion. SHAEF G-2 (Intelligence) reports Utah
Beach is defended by German 709th Infatrie-Divison. SHAEF G-3 (Operations) plans for the
2nd Armored Division with your 32nd, 33rd Tank Regiments and 36th Mechnized Infantry
Regiments to hit the Tare Green and Uncle Red sectors of Utah Beach. Attacking with you will
be the three Infantry Regiments, 8th, 12th and 22nd along with the 237th Combat Engineers
Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division.

SHAEF G-2 reports the French Resistance supported by the Free French No. 10 Commando unit
will be seizing the town of St. mere Eglise which is on your southern flank. SHAEF G-2 also reports
elements of the German 1058th Regiment/91st Luftlande-Division are stationed near St. mere
Eglise.

Move up to take your secondary objectives and “Spearhead” the allies to victory!.

Seconday Objectives: Causeway #2 (150 points)

Points are awarded at 1130hrs (50), 1230hrs (50) and 1330hrs (50) for a total of 150 points.

Move inland with the 4th Infantry Division and secure the Causway#2 then link up with the US
Airborne, French Resistance and Free French No. 10 Commandos.

Once the beachhead at Utah and the access of Causeway #2 is secure, you will proceed inland
under direction of the Allied Command to secure other objective areas.

G-2 (SHAEF Intellagance Office) reports elements of the 91st Luftlande-Division are stationed
at the Airfield. With other unknown supporting units. Expect the heavy presence from the German
21st Panzer Division and German Anti-Tank forces in your area.

Other Critical Objectives:

The Airfield Fuel Tank (200 points)

Points are awarded at 1330hrs (50), 1430hrs (50) and 1530hrs (100) for a total of 200 points.

Colleville (German HQ) (500 points)

Points are awarded at 1400hrs (50), 1500hrs (100), 1600hrs (150) and 1700hrs (200) for a total
of 500 points.

Press forward and take objectives, and then just continue to crunch the Germans. Doesn't that sound like fun!

When does registration close? Just wondering when we'll know what the final count with the 2nd armored will be.

Registration doesn't really close till the day prior to the event, but if you mean when's your
last chance to insure you'll be a member, that happens in just a few days. After that and all
they way up till the first week in May players wishing to be with a specific unit can note that
then they register, but ultimately it's then up to the Bunker's staff to actually assign you to
that unit. They do their best to put people where they want to be assigned, the only exception
occurs when the unit has already reached it's limit.

As to what the unit's strength is, that's something we don't discuss on public forums for obvious
or maybe not so obvious reasons. Unlike most other events, D-Day brings into play a number of
aspects not typically seen in most other sceanrios. Aspects such as Intelligence gathering, pre-
mission planning, player and unit training are only a few of the things both we, as well as our
German counterparts take very seriously.

Why not join us and see for yourself why we say, "it's only a game till you've played it."

Sincerely,

They typically have 2-3 deadlines.

One is around April 1 and that's the cut off for being able to select your own unit. Sometimes they have extended it a few days to allow for late registrations in the mail. This year the actual game is one week later in the year so I don't know how that might effect the dealines.

The next deadline is to pick your side - Allies or Germans. Since they want the game balanced, they keep the numbers at a 5:4 ratio (Allied:German). By cutting off your choice of side they can make that work. That ratio seems to work pretty well with the Germans defending and the Allies attacking. The Germans start in possession of 95% of the objectives on the 800 acre field, and it's the Allies mission to take and hold those at specific times.

There is also a deadline for increasing the price from $70 to $100 (for the entire week). That's mostly for walk-ons. The vast majority of people pre-register.

Even after the deadline for unit registration ends, I still suggest that you request the unit of your choice. If they can accomate you, they'll do their best. There's just no gaurantee at that point. Same thing with the deadline for choosing you side.

So we really don't know how many will be in most units until the end. But I know Keith and Scott ar expecting the 2nd Armor Group to fill up. They've done so much good work recruiting around the SE and other parts, they've lined up so many teams, I'd be surprised if they didn't max out. They been working it hard. Keith half track is a big hit and we'll be amazing. The other half-tracks will be cool two. They just won't have Engler reproductions on them.

I hope that helps.

Definitely. Thanks so much guys for being so helpful.

Just got my letter from allied command today. It says to email the head of my unit but I'm thinking he's probably on this forum.
