It's a good link of the US Airbornne getting ready to jump. It's just not D-day. It's from a Bridge Too Far. Just getting you pumped up!

Thanks General for sharing that with us. While war is never something you
should come to love, there's nothing wrong for respecting the bravery of
those who fight, especially if their cause is a just one.

In just a few months those who join this and the other units who comprise
the Allied Cause will once more be fighting for a just cause as you seek to
free France and the rest of Europe from the forces of darkness.

Sincerely,

I know a lot of Junkies will be at Bear Claw in a couple of weeks. I'll be there too, as will Lee. Scott and Keith will be there, as will a number of other Allied D-day vets. Stop by our camp site (white trailer and American flag / 82nd flag) for an beverage and some great info on D-day. And it should be another great Bear Claw / Millenium game!

As much as I'd like to join everyone at bearclaw I won't be able to make it, but
rest assured, you'll find me out there again come June.

Some of you who are reading this thread are probably asking yourselves what's so special about this event? I know of a number of teams who have I've talked to or swapped notes with tell me well t's a long way out there and besides we've got this field here that we play at. I really wish I could put what I've seen into words, but that's not possible. If you've seen some of the movie clips we've been sharing lately you might have some sense of it, but till you actually stand there on Saturday morning, as hundreds and hundreds of players arrive at the loading area, you'll never think of this as just another paintball game. I still get shivers when I think back to that scene as first the 1st ID piped up and answered the call when someone in their ranks asked who they were, then they repeated their answer, only louder this time, then it was someone in the 4th ID who asked who they
were and the reply was even louder still. Then it was the 899th's turn, the Blackcats turn to pipe up and tell the world who they were. Some of you might say so what, so what's the big deal, some guys yelling out 1st ID,
4th ID, or Blackcats, that doesn't win games. It might not mean much to some, but I'm sure those who've played before will tell you, nothing bonds players together more than the feeling that comes from being a part of a team. Usually that sort of feeling only comes towards the end of an event, after many hard hours of playing together. At this event that feeling was
there, at least with the allies, before they even got on their transports. Come out and join us and you'll see what I mean. Maybe then you'll understand why people like Keith, Steve and the rest of us who've already been there feel the way they do..

Steve and I will be at Bear Claw's Iwo Jima next weekend. Steve will have the D-Day booth setup, stop by and get a free copy of Spec Ops Recon magazine.

Bear Claw was great. Another excellent game put on my Ben and Bonnie, Bob and Susie. But congratulations are in order to Keith as the very proud owner of a restored Half Track. It was the talk of the event. It will be the cornerstone of the American Armor sledgehammer assault on Utah Beach - called the 2nd Armor Group. It looks awesome.

half track Photos

Thought some of you might like to see the half track
Steve was talking about. Here are a few shots of it.
Looks a lot like the one used in "Kelly's Heros." All it
needs is some netting and it'll be all set.
