and in your oppinion what vet team should a newbie team hook up with on the mogs side?
First, Super 64 is going to be a much simpler game. No medics, No spies, No engineers, No demo (with option to change mind). Ive played tons of scenarios with all the rules, tools and special cards, and Super 64 has the best of the best, none of the junk and a few tastey bits of my own design.

But we will have 3 helicopters, 1 spy bird (PROTOTYPE CONCEPT), a few dummies, lots of prop cards, lots of prize cards, a few players with "special missions" and a ton of missions designed to follow the flow of The Battle of Mogadishu. also: we mave have MASH units (PROTOTYPE CONCEPT)

Watch the movie Black Hawk Down a few times and you will be briefed. Make notes on the order of battle and study the field map.

I'll bet you a dollar Super 61 IS "going down"

Super 64 is "going down" is a sure thing - duh..

Cliff Wilcott and Mike Durant are gonna be in a world of hurt.

There will be plenty of wounded to evac

There will be MOBs of MOGs creating chaos

There will be a nasty humvee column mission or two..

Those two snipers who set up security around 64... well, you'll just have to
play this one to find out.

We will cover everything important at the safety briefing. There is a lot of information on this forum about Spy Birds and Helicopter Operations.

And for a vet team to hook up with.. If you want run missions, hang out at the base and when a mission is issued, go with it as fire support. It is hard to stay with one team for more than 20 minutes. Your best bet is "ok guys we rally here to regroup" and focus on keeping your own team together (which is plenty hard enough) and then move together with a purpose.

hope this helps.. I need more coffee

So can we assume the game will flow pretty much like the movie? If your DVD player/VCR/BetaMax/etc. is broken, though, or just for further reading, you might want to check out this series of articles. Lots of cool multi-media, and it's FREE!

Kudos to the OP

Kudos to the OP.

But keep in mind that every scenario is different and can have different rules. But most scenarios will have a great deal of the rules so it is an excellent place to start.

I can't emphasize enough the need to arrive at a scenario as early as possible. Be ready to go on the field when the time comes. Many scenarios are won or lost on Sunday morning for the first few hours. It is amazing the number of players who are two or more hours late getting on the field. I've seen as many as few as 5 people per team hit the field at first bell on Sunday morning.

And on the pedestal these words appear:

Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

In the old days (pre-1992) 24 hour Scenarios actually ran a full 24 hours. There was only a brief break for dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. The rest of the time, the play was live. I've literally tripped over players asleep on the field at 4:00 in the morning.

Those were the days....

I agree. For producers who start at 8am and end at 12pm, that is only 4 hours of gameplay. If the producer has a final battle (1 hour) that only leaves 3 hours of gameplay. Those three hours GO REALLY FAST and usually involve the major objectives of the game.
