Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and girlfriends here's your chance
to put some of that spare time you're going to have on your hands
once you arrive at the field to good use.

Flexible hours, on the job training and great rewards await those
who enlist for key support staff positions. Typing, dictation and
short hand skills not required, just a willingness to help organize
some 2,500 players into the world's largest paintball team, the
Allied Command.

For more details please contact either Psycho, Risken or myself.

Sincerely,

What is the most useful SUTAL course offered?
  • I have seen this one a few times. Here's the deal. You should look not only at the role you are playing at D-Day but also the role that you find yourself playing on your home fields. Remember that D-Day is 1 week out of the year the other 51 weeks you are at home so look at your playing style there as well as what you are getting into down at Oklahoma and determine what courses you would gain the most out of.

    Fire and Maneuver Course.

This course is ideal for the type of player who wishes to focus on individual skills. If you want to move better, sneak better, shoot better, attack better and fight smarter this is the course for you. Note that I did not say that this was exclusively a "beginner" course. It is not. Players who have been playing paintball for years WILL learn a lot at this course and will develop better individual skills. If you want to focus on making YOU the better warrior than this is the course you should be looking at. If you want to be the guy that always shows up behind everyone or the guy who can the enemy can never pinpoint than this is the course you want.

    Platoon Assault Course.

This course is aimed at the small unit leader or those who wish to become a small unit leader. It will show you how to focus your combat power and conduct attacks in a fierce pointed manner that will produce devastating results. This course would be an excellent fit as well for any players who find themselves as small unit leaders at their home fields particularly if you find yourselves in a lot of attack/defend situations. Are you a "cog in the wheel" type player who has no interest in actually leading but wants to see how your leaders should be doing this? Are you a German player who would like to see what a correct attack should look like so you can react to it? This is an excellent course and one that will give you a lot of tools that are useful at not just D-Day but every weekend when you find yourselves tucked back in a ditch looking at an defensive position with paint whizzing overhead. You want to be the guy who calmly says: "Ok, here is what we are gonna do"

    Company Attack.

This is a course aimed again primarily at leaders, again not only at D-Day but those who lead at their home fields as well. In this case we will be teaching the mid level tactics that go into conducting an effective company sized assault. Remember that in our case "Company" scales out to about regimental size with the way D-Day operates. If you are a in a position where you are leading other leaders, this is the course you will be wanting to take. If you want to learn to conduct an assault that gets the job done fast and well this is the course you want to take. If you are sick of leading your troops in human waves like an Iranian fanatic, if you are tired of being pinned down and dejected in the no mans land after watching yet another attack get mowed down, if you still think that the defender has an "advantage" then this is the course for you. Again, the Germans would do well to attend this course too since the face of the battle you are fighting down there is changing, you do not want to be behind the curve on this sort of thing. Besides, regardless of what you are doing at D-Day these are skills that will always prove useful in playing larger paintball games.

    Light Leaders Course.

Bar none this is the most useful course we offer. It is NOT a direct action combat course but one that focuses on mission planning, giving and receiving orders, and coordinating your actions. This always seems like minor stuff to people who do not really understand what they are looking at but those of us who really know how to fight the battle right know that the battle is won in the days and weeks before the battle when the planning is happening. "The plan goes to hell once the first shot is fired!" Bullcrap… The BAD plan goes to hell once the first shot is fired… The good plan makes sure that the bad plan goes to hell and stays there. This is the course that will teach you how to make your enemies gnash their teeth, wail, lament, don sack cloth and put ash in their mouths. If you want to learn how to take absolute control of the battlefield and keep it this is your course. Well thought out combat orders are the key to a well fought battle. If you lead this is your course. I am not talking about just here at D-Day. If you lead on the paintball field at home this is your course, if you lead AT WORK this is your course, if you want to learn how to focus those under you and give them the information and the guidance they need to really perform than this is the course you want to take. I use this information everyday and it works. I use this information at every game I play and it works. I have yet to sit down with my guys and develop a plan, really focusing on a goal and not achieve it. We will teach you how to do this.
Why do the SUTAL courses cost so much?
  • In all courses but the Light Leaders Course you will be employing MILES gear attached to real rifles and machine guns. You are looking at literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of the absolute tippity top of the line gear here. Nowhere else will you get to use this stuff without being IN the military and even then, very few infantry units in the regular military even have Miles 2000. This is the latest greatest and it does not come cheap. On top of that, these things use blanks, and if you think paint is expensive…. A standard "match" game using MILES gear costs $150, you are getting very useful battle focused training and the combat action with MILES gear for 1/3 of what a regular game costs. While I recognize that this is not "cheap" by any stretch it is certainly an excellent value. How much does a day of paintball usually cost? When you leave the paintball field after a day of play and I am sure more than $50 light in the wallet how much better of a player/leader are you? Do you remember each and every day of play you have done? Would you remember MILES gear and the rattle of a machine gun more? Yes, these courses are expensive but they are not just and empty pit that you are throwing money into. You will gain much more from these courses than you would imagine.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to give you an accurate answer.

The odds are still with you if you want to sign up for
the 82nd, 101st, or most of the other units which make
up the Allied Command. Cutoff for requesting which
unityou'd like to join is MAY 15th. After MAY 15th the
Bunker's staff decides which side and unit you'll be
assigned to. That's when they also raise the entry fee
from just 75.00 for the week to 100.00, so don't say
you haven't been given fair warning.
I also wanted to pas along this note about the new LLC
Course which is being offiered on Tuesday, June 10th
this year. The LLC or 'Light Leadership Course' is one
which will help make you a better commander. It's not
going to be kids play, but then most things worth while
never are.

This is what happens after taking the LLC

"One Shepherd's LLC is great. Jeremy, Lee and I took a
version of it last fall in Missouri. We all came away very
impressed. I think Jeremy's comment was "Christopher
is the best teacher I've ever had! Pretty impressive."

Lieutenant General
Allied Chief of Staff (COSSAC)

French Resistance

I'm amazed at the time and effort some put into
this event and I'm not talking about just the folks
who run the event, but rather the players on both
sides who have put the hearts and souls into this.
Here's just the latest example of what I mean,
still another member of a unit taking time to put
together a video clip in the hopes of drawing more
players to their ranks.
Here for your viewing pleasure is the Free French
recruiting video. Just remember, you've only got
6 more days after today before the chance to be
a member of this unit becomes a real crap shoot.
After May 15th the staff at the bunker makes ALL
the assignments and they also raise the fee from
75.00 for the entire week to 100.00. Don't delay,
call and ask them to assign you to the French
Resistance.

A newly revamped and expanded AAA (Advanced Allied Assualt)
Course is being offered to ALL players assigned to units with the
Allied Command on Friday, June 13th, between 0900 - 1200 hrs.
Site for this course is the town of Caen.
Leading the instructor team will be Eric Engler, commander of the
101st Airborne Division and recent winning Commander at the West
Point Spring event. Joining him will be Sgt. Wendell Greene, US
Army Special Forces ret'd., as well as a number of other highly
skilled instructors.

Regardless if this is your first year, or your 11th, the AAA course
has something to offer everyone. Serious players and participants
in every sport are always looking for ways to improve their game;
courses, coaches, classes, etc. Paintball is no different. If you want
to be part of something more than a mob of unorganized players,
this is the perfect course for you.

This course will cover aspects involving tanks, anti-tank weapons,
snipers, Airborne, Rangers and Infantry and aircraft, in other words
everyone who has signed up with the Allied Command.

Put this FREE training course on your schedule:
FRIDAY, 0900 TO 1200, CAEN. BRING YOUR GEAR, GUN, PAINT,
AIR AND YOUR FILLED CAMELBAK

Sincerely,
LT. General Risken, SHAEF
Allied Army Chief of Staff
CO 82nd Airborne
The 1944 D-day 82nd after action report read, "33 days of action
without relief, without replacements. Every mission accomplished.
No ground gained was ever relinquished."

Registration is still open and the fee for joining us still
hasn't gone up. All that's changed is the fact that you
aren't going to be able to pick the unit of your choice.
Because the split between those seeking to play with
us and those who wanted to go with the Germans is
so close to what they shoot for, the odds of getting in
with us are pretty good, especially if you ask them to
put you with the Americans, or for that matter with the
British or French. Noting is 100%, but the longer you
wait the worse those odds become.

Come and join us for what promises to be the best
D-Day ever.

Work on the new church located on the playing field at
Colleville is coming along nicely as seen in this recent
photo taken in 18 May.
The 30' x 40' three story structure is just the first in
what's expected to become a village which will mirror the
one which existed in Colleville France at the time of the
invasion.
