Someone told me that there's a group who is looking to come
to D-day and that they claim they want to join play with the underdogs. I've also hear some say that because the Germans are outnumbered they're the underdogs. Take a look at this clip from 2007 and tell me if you don't agree that this group hasn't also got a right to say they're the underdogs. Clip - YouTube - Oklahoma D-Day Omaha Beach Part 1 That's right it's the 1st Infantry Division storming the heights at Omaha beach. Thanks for this excellent clip go to Spec Sgt Skiera. of the 1st ID and his dad, Robert Skiera.the photographer. Want a challenge, want to play with the underdogs, then sign up with the 1st ID. Sincerely,

Already had a good response, from members of both sides who
want to dress the part if not for the event, then at least during the parade. If you'd like to join those of us who plan to get into the part your playing and you're having trouble finding suitable clothing/gear, drop me a line and I'll do my best to point you towards a few sources who may offer what you need. Sincerely,

Join the Allied 899th Blackcats
Looking to come to D-Day in 2008, but cannot quite figure out what unit you want to join yet? Trying to figure out what would work best for you (and maybe the team you are bringing along)? Are you looking for the most intense, fun, and memorable D-Day scenario of your life? Sounds like you are looking for the 899th Tank Destroyers. And no that is not just a simple and generic line. That is the truth in every sense of the word, and here is why:
Planning on comming to D-Day with a group (how many?) that are wanting to get involved in a LOT of action in critical areas? We have this. We are a fairly new unit that traverses almost the entire field and get involved in almost every major firefight that happens on the field. We seek them out to be able to make our presence known and to try to help break holes in the enemy lines as well as keep their tanks off our infantry's backs. Are you are also looking for a huge challenge and big shootouts? We have this. We land on a beach (best part of D-Day in my opinion) that is being rebuilt by the Germans in order to make it harder than ever for us to take it. We are part of the larger 2nd Armored Group and we will be the hammer that is used to break the Germans all along the northern end of the field. Our special role in this is to assist the infantry and destroy German tanks and bunkers. IMHO, there is NO greater challenge than charging a paintball tank or bunker. And we not only notice that challenge, we sign up and volunteer to do it without hesitation because it is the biggest challenge we can face and we know we can do it. Want even a bigger reason why we face a huge challenge? We are the primary Allied AT unit, and one of the top objectives that the German Officers told their troops in '07 was to first shoot AT gunners THEN Allied Officers, and so on. How much more of a challenge do you need other than being the number one target for the German forces and being one of the 40 AT troops out of 2250 that are able to blow up buildings and tanks on the Allied side? Do you also want to be sneaky and work towards making a huge change in the battle? We even have this! When we get off the beaches, our mission is to seek and destroy the German armor and render it incapable of providing aid to the German forces. We HAVE to be sneaky in order not to draw the wrath of German tankers down on us and to make sure we don't stumble into ambushes. We also have to maneuver and avoid prolonged engagements in order to get our bazooka's in range of the towers and bunkers that the Germans hide behind. And then, when their defenses look indestructible, we blast them right out of the area with a well placed shot and that opens up the way for the infantry to push on through.

Note: the 101 pathfinders now full up. Better get cracking before all the other choice missions get nabbed.
Quick note: 899 BlackCats are a unit growing alot for the upcoming year. Grab a spot before we are full too! |

4th Infantry Division - Recuriting Video
Hello again,
I wanted to share something today with those of you who still seem to think that the Oklahoma D-Day event is just another big game, or who still think that it can't be all that much different than those games they've taken part in elsewhere. As I've said many times before and will continue to repeat, "it's just a game till you've played it" and this video points out why I stronly believe that. As you watch this short clip, think of all the hard work that went into making it and don't forget, this wasn't produced by the folks who host this event, instead it was put together by a young member of the unit highlighted in the film. If all you do is attend just one event this coming summer, make sure it's this one. Film By: Capt. Kevin 'Stonewall' Skiera Charlie Company CO 8th Regiment 4th ID 4th Infantry Division Recruiting Video ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0TNdPMkd_8 ![]() Sincerely,
