The Story: A year has whisked by since King Agamemnon’s tremendous victory over the “undefeatable” Trojans. The once proud and fruitful nation of Troy fell to the onslaught of the Greek forces, shackling them into slavery. Their king slaughtered during the invasion, their spirits broken and their Gods forsaking them in favor of the Greeks have turned this once proud nation into a nation of cowards and servants. The Greeks’ supreme reign over the Mediterranean has brought about peace in the region, but peace pays a high price. In a not so distant land, Paris, the only surviving son of King Priam of Troy, has recovered from his battle wounds. His faithful servant, Chryses, the High Priest of Apollo, remembers that bloody day that the Greeks invaded their beautiful land of Troy. The bloodshed and agony of war is still fresh in his mind. His mind recalls that fateful moment when the last of the castle walls tumbled as they disintegrated to dust, as if Zeus himself struck it with his mighty lighting bolts. Chryses’ daughter lay dead at his feet—a curse from Zeus for his loyalty to Apollo. Many months have passed, yet that tragic day continues to torture Chryses. He recalls carrying his daughter to the altar of Apollo only to find Prince Paris wounded and near death at the altar’s feet. Chryses immediately knew what he must do to protect Troy’s royal bloodline! Chryses’ laid his daughter to rest as he quickly lifted his prince and carried him to safety. He begged Apollo for the strength and guidance to navigate their dingy to a land far away from the grasp of Agamemnon. This is where our story begins. . . “Chryses, my loyal Priest. You have served me well these past many moons. My strength has returned to me tenfold. The day of reckoning is fast approaching,” spoke Paris in a whisper. “Come we must now raise an army to take back our lands. Surely there must be other survivors who long for the days of glory before the Greeks raided our lands!” “My King, the revolt has already begun,” replied Chyrses. “For weeks word has circulated of your recovery. Many loyal survivors have already sworn their allegiances to you and to the rebirth of Troy. The Greeks shall pay for what they have done to our people and our lands, but be cautious my king, for Agamemnon has dispatched Menelaus in search of you. His ships of war are but a fortnight away.” “Then we waste time, my friend. Quickly, gather our fallen brethren and bring them to our humble hut, for Menelaus will realize why the Gods once favored the Trojans when his ships land!” “For Troy and our fallen brethren, victory shall be ours!” proclaimed Paris. www.Blackcatpaintball.com |
