Now that that is out of the way I want to explain to ACE the facts behind why things are done this way. I would have been more than happy to spend time with him on the phone and explained all of this but apparently spreading this out on three different threads is easier for him.

The reason why we cannot accept faxed copies or emailed copies is simple: Original Signatures. Insurance REQUIRES that all waivers have the original hand written signatures on them to be considered valid. Anything faxed, emailed, copied etc is not a valid waiver and will not protect us. Seeing as you need both waivers and the form to register why would we have people fax in a copy just to bring in the originals the day of. That would waste a lot more time getting people registered the day of the event and even more paper.

We will have anywhere from 350-600 players signing up for this scenario and we have TWO people doing all of the registration work on top of our usual store duties. If there was an easier way do you not think that we would do it? One this cost money to do and time to keep it up and even more accounting for only two scenarios are year. If we had numerous scenarios a year or some type of online store this would be great. But for a local field and a brick and mortar store this is not the best option.

Personal Checks: After having been burned multiple times for a couple thousands dollars I am sure a lot of small business would decide not to take personal checks. The other problem with this is, especially this late is that they will not get cleared before the scenario. If they bounce then someone just got to play for free. Not only that but how much time/effort would it take to get it reimbursed if he was out of state? We have been doing this for over a year and it is working out fine.

In closing, I have been taking registrations since mid September. There are MULTIPLE ways to get to the waivers and have problems answered. Registrations are available on PBC, PBJ and MPP. If you read the original Leyte thread that Brain started on September 9th he give the exact link to where they are available.

I saw that you had problems on the PBC website with registrations but if you just read the forums, which you can do without registering, someone had the same problem and was given the link to MPP for the waivers.

Not only that but reading PBJ you would see that BOTH of the owners are on here and a simple PM would solve the problem.

Don’t like that? Call the PBC store and talk to me or Geoff. I have sent out multiple emails with the waivers attached along with faxing it to numerous people.

If you still have any issues please contact the PBC Store at (843) 552-1115. It is much easier than posting on the forums.
shouldn't you be fixing my damn shotgun right now?? slackers.

You guys take things way too personal. Your last sentence shows the tunnel vision that is so common in paintball across a wide varity of issues. If calling you was easier, then that's what I would have done. For me, two hours of writing posts is easier than calling you. Why? The first has to do with the envionment I am working within. The second has to do with the FACT that calling your store during YOUR buisness hours does not mean someone will pick up the phone. Since this all started, I've called your store 4 times during business hours & have gotten 1 pickup. Why is this? Hey, it's not my business, because if it was, I'd figure out a way for my phone to get answered everytime the line wasn't busy during business hours.

On the tunnel vision thing again-- here's how it works for plenty of people in general, speaking to posts, again in general: On a given day apost is made with information on it. The post is read by someone who will not need that information until a month or more later. Unless they remember that post or come across it again, it does them no good. And your point about Brain's post has been made by at least 2 other people, yet you want to make some sort of point about me making differnet posts that you see as being all the same.
Ahem--
Well hear this ALL PAINTBALL FIELD OWNERS & THEIR EMPLOYEES: You should be glad that somone wants to come to your game bad enough to make the effort I've made, because that dough in your pocket. If you're already rich & don't give a hoot, well fine--how about selling out & moving to the Keys or something? But whatever you do, don't make yourself look like you don't have a clue about buisness by downgrading a customer. What's it to you? Give the customer what they need in order to spend money with you & then hush about it. Why? Because that's what someone who knows business as well as they know paintball would do. BTW- in the messages I got from Skeeter & Brain--that's exactly what they did--cudos to them!!! Now did they roll their eyes at me behind the scenes?--most probably!! But that's where crap like that belongs.

And since you read my other posts, you should know that I don't have a lot of experience registering for games, but as I said in the other posts, I will know from now on. But despite my inexperience, I knew why you don't take personal checks. What I want could be solved by having a place to put all of the credit card information you need right there on the forms. That would eliminate the phone calls.

maybe this will help you in the future. from a avid player and team captains pov.

1. first thing i will do when registering for a game is go to the producers website. most producers, especially mpp games, will have registration packet waiting on you there. its downloadable most often in a pdf format and contains registration and all waivers for the field and the producer. if i have a problem or question, ill drop them an email. most producers, especially mpp games, are quick to get back with you.

2. then i go to the fields website and mapquest the address and get my directions.

3. i will send a cashiers check or money order in with all the paperwork. it is the most universal method of payment that all fields will except. and it is safe.

4. always mail your stuff in with about a 3 week lead to the game. then call the field a week after mailing to confirm reciept. it has taken me numerous attempts at calling most fields on the phone. even my local proshop has a problem with telecommunication. endeavor to persevere my brother... endeavor to persevere.

5. when something gets difficult, i run into a snag in the process or i just get damn frustrated as hell... ill say to myself "well, thats just paintball." and ill drink a beer and have a good maniacal laugh.

the more you do it, the easier it gets. trust me.

i often find that paintball registration anxiety FORCES me to spiral into a medium-high level of alcohol consumption. not even on the end of the field or producer in most cases... but running a team is an awful lot like babysitting inept, deaf, dumb, mute, blind, helpless, hopeless, senseless idiots... and on top of that, my guys in particular, are buttholes anyway... so it requires a VERY aggressive approach, and heavy drinking.
