Is this how it typically works?
OK, from doing my registration process for the PBC game and talking to somebody at the PBC office I've gathered the following:
1. In order to be done in one day, you must fill out the forms, go get a money order or registered bank check for the amount owed, put all that in an envelope, affix proper postage & drop in the mail. Now try not to get pissed that you blew a day's vacation to get all of that done. 2. A more practical method-- fill out forms & drop in the mail. Wait a couple of days & start calling the PBC office. As soon as they have your form in front of their face, you can call in with a credit card number. Now you're done. 3. While in today's world you can fax papers or scan the filled out papers in to your computer & then email them anywhere in the world, this probably isn't gonna happen for you. I don't know why--paintball people tend to embrace technology (ok, except for that one group of players), but this simple stuff tends to not be available as an option. Why? Is this how it usually is? Seems like a lot of time to spend--on both ends. Is there not a way to trim this process down? ************** I'm not complaining, just wanting to do 2 things--make sure I'm getting this right & if so, push the envelope a little towards improving things. www.carolinariot.com Proudly Sponsored by SC Army Surplus www.scarmysurplus.com "When you're in command, command!"-Vice Admiral William F. ace..
You forgot to add the part about collecting forms and payments from your teammates in time to get them in the mail before pre-registration closes .. And then figuring out who paid what, how and when.. Oh, and for the guys who pay cash, get that converted to mailable funds. Then eat the cost for overnight mail when my forms were ready month ago. ---OR WORST : FRONT THE WHOLE TEAM ON YOUR CREDIT CARD and pretend you will get paid back and your wife won't find out.... EEK! -------------------------------------------------------- Then beg for forgiveness for not having the pages number and in order -- or for having them in order, but not sorted by payment type. and all your 20s arent facing the same way -- and your co2 tank is out of hydro -- and you cant park there, or here.. and someone stole my parking spot - and then the paint is all dimples and brittle - and the HPA tank wont hit 3000--- lol .........man I love Paintball! ........ Im just kidding about that crap above -- its just part of playing travel ball. But pre-registering w/ waivers, forms, & payments is a drag - especially for the team captains and event coordinators. Whew, thats said : PBC's events are the best managed events I've played - they make it look easy and the games start ON TIME, run clean, safe and fun. The staffers are always exceedingly on top of everything. (Sam don't play!) This is why I feel comfortable bringing my 10 yr old son there to play -- kudos guys. Can't wait till this weekend. ![]() Last edited by thumper; 11-13-2007 at 02:21 PM. |

It would be great to see more fields providing an option of mailing forms (for those who choose not to embrace technology), or online registration/payment (allbeit paypal or other method). I think the only time I ever write checks are for scenarios...
Yeah, Thumper has hit the nail on the head with the extra items... |

Why not set up an online registration and accept payment with either credit card or PayPal?

a typical scenario from my viewpoint goes like so- 4 to 5 weeks out i announce the game as one i plan to make, and set a deadline for reg and payment within my team. this is typically 2 weeks before pre reg ends. i print off the reg and waiver forms at work, which takes about 5 mins. i have everybody fill them out in front of me, all at once as they hand me money. i papaer clip the money to each reg packet. all in all thats about 15 minutes... i drive one hour + or - 10 minutes to PBS, and hand the reg's and $$'s to PBC, get a receipt and walk off... thats the long version. . for fields that i can't drive to- i collect money and reg all the same as normal, i go to walmart and get one MASS money order for the entire team and send one moneyorder with the multiple registrations. then i go about 400 yds down the sidewalk to the ups store and mail that bitch off. the longest and most time consuming part is collecting from my douchebag team. after that its a half hour MAX cakewalk. RED FTW SUCKAS... ![]() 1UP Baller fo sho'

Yeah, I've asked that before. The only thing I've ever heard is that the fields don't want to or can't deal with the security issue. But there are like a billion on-line companies that take credit cards, so I don't see how it can be that hard. www.carolinariot.com Proudly Sponsored by SC Army Surplus www.scarmysurplus.com "When you're in command, command!"-Vice Admiral William F.
