Lots of folks take it from Texas. It's pretty cheap, you can party all the way, there are no issues with your gear like flying, and there is a connecting commuter train you can catch in Chicago that takes you right to Michigan City (hotels/stores/restaraunts, and about 10 or 15 minutes from the field)

chappy let me know not sure what i will be taking but something reasonabley comfortable and maybe 3-5 inside, i will bring a trailer for everyone's gear

same here... let me know if you ned a lift. i think i am just going to rent a suberban or passenger van and pull all the gear on a trailer. that way way we take a group and just spilt gas...
